Zoro is not dead, but is in critical condition. Both Luffy and Zoro had a reading of 19% chance of survival, so I assume oda is just illustrating that.
I've been thinking about the possibility of Zoro being dead lately. If Zoro is dead Oda could have Marco bring Zoro back to life with his devil fruit power.
Marco has a mythical zoan df, phoenix type. A phoenix is a mythical fire bird that is reborn in the ashes it dies from. Oda could give Marco awakening which allows them to revive anybody that just recently died.
If Zoro does go to the underworld he could meet and possibly fight the king of hell for that title. I wouldn't be surprised if Zoro meets Ryuma in the underworld who gives us a history lesson or flashback. I've been thinking about when we will get a flashback about Ryuma. That could be the perfect opportunity.
Zoro happens to (or wants to) become "The King of Hell", the same day he gets compared to Ryuma, unlocks AdCoC and on the day of the fire festival, none of this is a coincidence imo
Zoro beat Ryuma's body in Thriller Bark, and gained Shisui.
Now Zoro will defeat his soul in hell (going on the assumption that Ryuma is the current king) and take his title from him.
