Character Discussion Zoro will never surpass Roger

#43
Let's rationalize it a bit, try to deduce from the information we have so far.

Zoro will be the strongest swordsman, surpassing the Mihawk. We know that Mihawk is stronger than Shanks through his Vivre card, so Zoro will be two power points above Shanks in the end.

Roger was not the strongest man, this was Newgate and we know this from his Vivre Card.

Shanks Vivre Card says he is strong enough to stand beside Newgate.

Now let's think about it, Zoro will be ahead of Shanks since overcoming him is just a prerequisite to be able to fight Mihawk, Shanks is treated as someone capable of fighting Shirohige, so I leave the conclusions with you.

Keep rationalizing. When the man himself admits it. :mihugh:

TBF Mihawk did say that Luffy has an unmatched ability to make allies wherever he goes. Maybe in Mihawk's mind becoming Pirate King is more difficult because it requires proper social interactions with others instead of just cutting them down. :milaugh:
Mihawk didn't know he had that power back then. Roger doesn't have Luffy's ability anyways so that is moot point. The path to becoming PK means conquering the entire sea which includes all the pirates in the world including the strongest not just the WSS.

Luffy is trying to overcome everyone including the WG. Zoro is trying to overcome a single person. It's an entirely different scale yet it still applies to strength at the end of the day.

By Rogers own words the only people he considered a threat to him was the World's strongest Man (WB) and the greatest Marine (Garp).

It's not just one aspect:

Opening Narration of One Piece:

"Wealth, fame, power. Gold Roger, the King of the Pirates, attained everything this world has to offer. And so, many men head for the Grand Line to find the great treasure he left behind, the One Piece. The world has truly entered a Great Pirate Era! Wearing the straw hat sworn upon him by the great pirate, Shanks Monkey D. Luffy heads out to the sea on a journey on the road to become King of the Pirates!"

I was joking. Mihawk is strong and people fear him but he doesn't have the same reputation as Roger. Roger changed the world because he started the great age of piracy. Also it has been shown that more people are after the One Piece than Mihawk's title. Of course becoming the PK will be more challenging.

Mihawk portrayal as it is sucks in MF. He himself admitted inferiority to old weakened WB & was put on his ass with his best attack got stopped by former's subordinate. Then got stalled by another of subordinate into stalemate.
Mihawk has admitted inferiority twice to Roger/WB level characters.

Zoro will be a top tier but below Great Pirates in a fight. The only person he is set to surpass is Mihawk who we can't even say clearly is above Commander level but we give him the benefit of the doubt.

Strongest form of Zoro will beat Admirals with Extreme difficulty but loses to Great Pirates at various degrees of High difficulty.

I say he beats Admirals because I don't think that even Ray or Mihawk can reasonably beat an Admiral going all out.

So yea, He'll be on the high end of Mid Top Tier while Sanji will be at the low or mid end of Mid Top Tier.

No, Mihawk was commenting on Whitebeard getting weaker.

put on his ass with his best attack got stopped by former's subordinate.
It wasn't even Mihawk's best attack in Marineford. The iceberg slash was stronger.

Then got stalled by another of subordinate into stalemate.
Mihawk also sparred with East Blue Zoro abd postponed against Don Krieg. This means nothing.

Mihawk has admitted inferiority twice to Roger/WB level characters.
That's not Mihawk admitting inferiority. It's Mihawk saying that becoming the Pirate King is harder than becoming the WSS. And it's true, even if the WSS requires greater strength than the Pirate King. Simply because one needs a lot more than just strength to become the Pirate King:
  • A top tier crew
  • Copies of the four Road Poneglyphs
  • Someone that can read Poneglyphs
  • The military strength to challenge (and prevail against) the 4 Emperors and Navy HQ

In summary, everything you just said is wrong.
