Yeah the Monet thing was pretty cheap.
If you really want to push it, you can argue it is about weak opponents, not gender, since he also wanted to let Hyouzou go for example, but then he had no qualms to still cut him down, whereas Monet just got a scare.

Another farfetched interpretation is, he wanted to give Tagishi a win and allowed her to cut Monet down.

It's not like we havent seen exactly the same from Mihawk in East Blue - boredom.
How do you imagine the best football player of the world would behave if he went to some 3rd league?
