Let me just check if we are on the same page regarding this.
Your point was that out of 100 percent of Zoro's haki reserves he could use, I'll throw in some arbitrary numbers, 70 percent. Enma drew on 85 percent of Zoro 100 percent, which Zoro wasn't accustomed to. I.e. it exceeded the limit of what Zoro could do normally, but not on his complete reserve at that time, or he would be dead.
However, due to it's constant tendency to draw out haki, Zoro had to increase his reserves even further, by training with Enma. So now the former 100 percent, let's say it was like 200 haki points, is now 300 haki points, and that is his new 100 percent. Upon mastering the sword he can now tap into all 300 points willingly.
Therefore, in the end it is all due to Zoro's own efforts and training. If that's your point then I agree. I even said that it will boost his COA, allowing for better offense and defense.
With efficiency and control, I meant he will not needlessly waste haki and use the minimum required. For example, if something needs 15 haki points to be cut Zoro will use 15 haki points, not 50.
