Speculations Zoro's the son of a bastard child

#22
Joyboy asked Ryuma's wife ( TokiToki no mi previous user) to send his child in the future (Zoro) to Kill his ancient Rival Imu (i.e. Hawkeye's brother and 2nd strongest in the verse afte Hawkeye )

he's the only exception
- Kuina
- Yasu
- Ushimaru
- Ringo Yakuza
The Ringo Yakuza isn't confirmed a Shimotsuk plus the theory is about one parent, Zoro's hair colour can easily be explained by the hair colour of the other parent who could just be a random person from East Blue.

That’d be pretty cool. Making him a descendant of the Kurozumi would be some neat bit of flavor
Yes, I dislike how all the Kurozumis that were introduced to the story are mentally deranged villains.

Zoro being one and proving that being evil does not run in your DNA would be a good message from Oda.
I have heard of Otameh being a Kurozumi, but ngl, Zoro being a Kurozumi instead would be a welcome plot twist. :christindeed:

No , Zoro is half Amatsuki , why do you think all Shimotsuki's are blue haired but Zoro isn't ? the green hair is from the amatsuki clan
Which one is the Amatsuki clan, again?

Zoro is Ryuma's son. That's the purpose of lady Toki.
We just have to find out why she sent him to the future.
And it's interesting that he has defeated his own father without knowing.

I don’t think this is likely just because Greg said that people could guess his backstory with everything we have rn, this just seems like it’d be too out there, but it sounds a lot more interesting

But this also begs another matter to be addressed: For what purpose was Zoro sent to the future in the first place?
Yes, I said that in the first post but everything in One Piece world is falling in place in the present.
The "why" we already know - because this is the time when all miracles are happening.
The only thing left to be seen is "who" told Toki to send Zoro into the future.
Probably some clairvoyant like madame Sharley.

I think it's the inherited will trope

Everyone at first theorized how Roger was probably related to luffy because of how similar they looked

The good and bad endings for the strawhats that oda drew highlight that in OP will and personality affects looks

Eos sanji in the bad time-line looks like judge, while in the good time-line he looks exactly like zeff

Zoro is likely not related to anyone in wano, he just inherited ryuama's will the same way luffy inherited Roger's/joyboy's
Yes,Zoro being of a "royal/especial lineage" would undermine his work ethic.Zoro is the only straw hat we have seen training consistently pre-time skip.He deserves to become WSS by his own merit.

Ok, but the why must then be something specific.

Damn I didn't know about that Greg post. This is certainly interesting. But I'd prefer he's not ushimaru son, but his parent to be some random shimotsuki villager, which could still fit your theory if one of his parent is a shimotsuki.

Edit: I don't expect oda to go in depth on Zoro backstory.
