Kid Goku who is weaker than Adult Goku, was roughly on par with base Rildo, who is stronger than Buu...
Goku could even have been referring to Buuhan, let that sink in...

Progession/consistency also feels a bit more natural - at least for Goku...Trained his ass off with Uub for another 5 years, then was turned back into a Kid, to have him justify struggling against some enemys and then they brought back the whole Great Ape Primal form of Saiyans ordeal which lead to SSJ4, a much more natural power up compared to what they came up with in Super most of the time...

Also Rildo somewhat but definitely Baby and out of the Dragons - at least Syn Shenlong felt like believable villains in terms of power progession.

Super 17 was an ass pull and made no sense tho imo.

GT goku is underrated. It is Toei goku which he get wank a lot. On movies which it is Canan to gt where ssj3 shake heaven which a universal feat by DC/Marvel standard. Base GT goku did shake hell. But like comics you don't see universe get blow up every punches as they suppose which comics are more guilty than most manga.
