I'll just say it: I want Zoro to kill Kaido.
Not because of bragging rights against those who don't think he will, but because I think it legitimately helps the story at this point.
Even if there are caveats behind the feat, like Oden's haki being stored to kill Kaido, the death of Kaido at the hands of a swordsman just rounds things out.
When Oden died, he was left with several unfinished business. He could not become the Shogun, he could not open Wano's borders, and he could not slay Kaido. He tells Kaido before his death that his soul will live on, and that the dreams he had for Wano will be realized.
INHERITED WILL
Momonosuke trains tirelessly to become the worthy ruler of Wano his father could not be.
The Scabbards work to fulfill his wish of opening Wano, and bridging the gap between the outside world and the country. Meeting good pirates like Luffy, who share Oden's vision for the country and wants to see it through.
Roronoa Zoro, the ideal of Wano. Zoro lived out Oden's dream of the country and its people's freedom to go about in the world. He's a potential Shimotsuki, an ally of the Kozuki, and almost symbolically as the Shimotsuki owned the only legal ports for in and out of the island, Zoro is a product of growth from outside the world. Oden became many times stronger after his journeys with Roger and Newgate.
Coincidentally, Mihawk offered sage advice for Zoro to see the world in order to become stronger.
Isolation had caused Wano to become stagnant, open to take over. Zoro's a positive omen for what the country could be. The land once known as the "country of gold" can be once more, and even greater.
Enma needed someone powerful like Oden to be tamed and wield, and now that Oden's will has been passed down to a worthy samurai, he is ready to take the head the fallen daimyo could not take. For the Wano of, now, and beyond. This is the land of the Samurai.
