They didn't hear any rumors.
This is the second time that they are facing him, KILLER is the most calculating of all, would he be lying?

I don't think you're understanding my point.
Killer (a person) says Kaido is the strongest.
He doesn't need to address it as a rumor, it's the truth for him.
Oda is telling us, people within the story say Kaido is the strongest.
Case and point being Killer literally calling Kaido the strongest pirate.

That doesn't confirm anything, because Oda as the author isn't calling him the strongest.
He's saying people in his story think of him as the strongest.
For Mihawk for example, he is the strongest in both perception and reality.

I understand your pov, but it is kinda sad when you've been reading a story wrong for years.
For years I was arguing Luffy > Zoro, I kinda look like a moron rn.
My only comfort is admitting I was wrong before it's too late.
I still hope EOS Luffy will be top 10 of all time at least, that'd be a relief.

Well, admitting the error is half the job so you are on a good path.
Nothing to worry about, Oda will make Luffy look good, I am sure he doesnt benefit from making the difference between him and Zoro way too obvious and besides, Luffy was doing ok so far but he is at a mismatch in this battle.

Both of the Emperors are not the type of combatants where Luffy can shine, he will get such fights in the future or Oda will steer this one in a direction where Luffy can look good. For example, getting rid of both Emperor's weapons would be a start. In a fistfight, Luffy can do pretty good against either of them and his contribution would be good enough. He is getting most of the panel time either way.

wait, are you just realising this now? Its been three years of Wano dude. Even when Zoro wasnt in the Chapters for 13 chapters of Oden flashback, there was still non stop Zoro talk because of Oden parallels.

Kaido's divine thunder/normal club attacks are much more powerful than boro breath e.g.- oden tanked boro breath but was one shot by injured kaido normal club attack. His speed is also much better blitzing luffy. Hybrid will be base on steroids. Kaido's full form is a animal contrary to sengoku's humanoid fruit
