Sounds like a bunch of words. Sanji writes himself. The things we are seeing from Sanji post-ts is due to his 2-year training. A guy like Sanji who was pervy before, will be extra pervy after being succumbed to people he calls nightmares due to the fact that in his eyes, they aren't real ladies.
I get that the extra pervertedness is because of the time skip but it is grossly overblown. Having nosebleeds here and there is fine but the gags are extremely exaggerating and just feel like the complete opposite of the chilvarous, respecting women Sanji we were shown in pre-skip.
Like I said in the post, Sanji was never built like Luffy much less Zoro. Sanji fans who are mad at Sanji's portrayal simply skipped the whole point of WCI. The things Sanji fans hate, are the things Luffy said makes Sanji cool and a good person.
Sanji character won't be progressing, whole cake island was simply a deconstruction of Sanji's character. So arguably, Sanji fans can't even really be mad at Sanji's current situation(Kalifa 2.0), since sanji as a character never had any progression/changes in his own arc. It was ultimately inevitable that he would fall into his current situation.
I do believe that Oda's intention with WCI were never about giving Sanji strong character development. To me, it looked like he simply wanted to flesh out his background, get that out of the way and resurface some of the old traits which were lost as in his chivalry and cooking. The two things that make up the core of his character which have been damn near non-existent post-skip. There was some serious potential for development that could have occurred during the arc when he learned of Pudding's deception. We were actually going places with his character there. He still could have kept his morals of respecting women while not groveling at them. Hell, that development could have happened during Dressrosa with Viola.
There was a strong case for the idea that Sanji was stronger than Zoro pre enma training, because Sanji got his power up- the raid suit well before that.

Can be argued that Sanji was also not used with the Raid Suit. We've seen him quite randomly pulling off the Invisibility and getting surprised by it, not really using the boosters for the purpose of improving the strength of his kicks and mostly just darting around with them vs Page One, not combining CoA/Hardening with the Raid Suit, not using DJ and so on.
It doesn't matter either way really, at the end of the day Oda's intention will always be for Zoro to be a bit above Sanji as a combatant, while Luffy is a bit above Zoro.
Claiming that Sanji is not meant to become a powerhouse is one of my battles.
He doesn't need to try like a pack animal the way Zoro does. He cares about protecting people (mostly women) and finding the all blue but what drives Luffy and Zoro are even much more complex gists. I mean all SHs covet to protect people.
There's a reason why Zoro behaves so differently.
Whitebeard is nothing but an exception to the rule and not the proof things are differently. He was a real conqueror as well as a special man bearing a special devil fruit.
the trademark sign of fake Sanji fans is the exceptionally short memory span.
now at chapter 1004 and its like 1000-1003 never even happened. much less 997.

But you forget one thing. Most of the Sanji fans love him because of the various things he did as Mr Prince, be it in Alabasta or EL and even when the 'Hunter' came in EL. These are things that the fans love about Sanji and miss seeing from him.

Most of the time, depending on how favorable your opinion is of each character, fans will push for more or less significant gaps between Luffy and Zoro or Zoro and Sanji, but at the end of the day it averages out in a comparable manner, which fits Oda's way of sometimes making it seem like Luffy and Zoro are on par, and other times making it seem like Zoro and Sanji are on par.
Depending on the point in time you make that comparison one of the two might seem more or less likely, but the overarching sentiment is that these three are the strongest SH's, and at the end of the day after everything is said and done, you'll end up with Luffy being stronger than Zoro, and Zoro being stronger than Sanji, thus Luffy > Zoro > Sanji is the least subjective way to look at things.

That's true. Even I viewed it as Luffy > Zoro > Sanji, but that was before the rooftop battle. I'll have to see what Sanji has up his sleeve but for now at least, he isn't up there imo. Let's see what happens.
It's not that Sanji didnt have resolve as a person. He sacrificied his resolve to protect Zeff and his treasure.
Sanji stifiles his conviction an dreams away just so he can stay and fight for the sake of Zeff's treasure. The exact same stifiling Zoro ends up doing in Thriller Bark, where he gives up his dreams and sacrifices himself to protect Luffy's dream. And now currently Zoro's biggest goal first is to make Luffy PK. However when Sanji does it he "lacks" conviction, but when Zoro does its amazing.
The flashback of child Sanji shows he has enough conviction to die for his dream
Sanji fans haven't understood Sanji. They want Sanji to be something he's not. They want him to be like what Judge wanted for Sanji to be. Did Sanji fans even read the ending of Whole Cake?
Sanji is a "simp" and cook. Being a badass fighter is not essential to his character.
Sanji fans are hating Sanji for the same reasons Judge hate Sanji. Thus, these so-called "Sanji fans" are Judge's children. They want Sanji to be what Judge wanted Sanji to be. They aren't really reading One Piece, are they?
I never thought I would have to defend Sanji against the illiterate masses of Judge's children.:cantseeme:
Aside from cooking, is Zoro not the same ? Does Zoro not have normal human durability and does he not protect weak people ? How does this allude to not being a badass fighter. Judge would think Zoro is a failure too. Tf are you on ?
Baratie arc has shown fighting is second nature to Sanji, and him being know as just a person who is a "cook" is disrespectful.
The fact that people are really buying into this bait as a good thread is just purely disappointing. Whatever....
