Borsalino's opponent from the Strawhat crew is Zoro not Sanji. There are a few reasons to expect this to be the case:
  • Borsalino used a sword in his only serious fight against another top tier
    • He has a named techniques for creating said sword "Ame no Murakamo".
    • Said sword is one of Japan's sacred imperial regalia
    • He is proficient enough as a swordsman to completely stalemate a top tier "pure swordsman" like Rayleigh
  • He's repeatedly been paired in battle against the second strongest fighters of a pirate crew
    • With Rayleigh at Sabaody Archipelago
    • With Marco at Marineford
    • With Benn Beckman at Marineford
  • Borsalino has unresolved conflict with Zoro
    • He easily defeated him at Sabaody Archipelago
    • He commented that Zoro must have already been weakened to go down so quickly
    • A future confrontation would resolve this.
  • Borsalino and Zoro seem to occupy similar positions.
    • Borsalino is Sakazuki's strongest subordinate
    • Zoro is Luffy's strongest subordinate

As far as I can tell, the main reason to expect Sanji to be Borsalino's opponent is out of some mistaken belief that Borsalino specialise in kicks/has a kick based fighting style. However, this is a gross misunderstanding of his actual fighting style. Borsalino has literally only ever used his kicks to troll characters that were fodder to him:
  • The Supernova at Sabaody Archipelago
  • Luffy at Marineford

Someone might counter that Issho is Zoro's Admiral opponent, but this looks unlikely given that:
  • Issho has a more fleshed out conflict with Luffy
  • Issho appears to be a Luffy fan
  • Issho may not remain a soldier for the World Government at the final war

@DynaMight.
Kizaru will die before EoS, likely at the hands of Blackbeard. He will be replaced by the Orange Admiral
Post automatically merged:

It's allegedly more like Mihawk > Akainu > Kizaru >~ Shanks >~ Kaido imo.

But it would be enthralling where GB ranks.
Did you write your ranking in reverse by mistake?

Teach is Kizaru opponent. The Marines are too strong, light vs darkness is a good theme and Oda introduced two admirals that are perfect for Zoro and Sanji. Teach was looking for weapons so that should be the cause of their fight. Perhaps Teach is trying to catch Vegapunk? :specialmeh:

  • Why didn't Kaido pick up a sword to fight Oden?
  • Why didn't Garp pick up a sword to fight Roger
Why didn't akainu make a magma bisento to fight wb who had one ?

Kizaru didnt use his sword AT ALL during marineford.
He never once fought seriously at Marineford.

He relies on leg kicks as we have seen in his fight against Supernovas and Marineford.
He literally only used those attacks against fodder.

In order to beat Kizaru one must be fucking fast AF and have a really good CoO.

Now which SH falls under that category?
Sanji
The only character that effectively fought Borsalino is Rayleigh.

So kizaru trolled WB?
Yes.

His best attacks are when he snipes anyway
Nope. He's only sniped fodder and when he was trolling his opponents.

Especially because he doesn't use a real sword. He only creates one made of light.
By this logic, Mama doesn't use a real sword but one made from her soul. Borsalino's sword is created by one of his signature techniques, and in real life is a national treasure of Japan.

If Hybrid King reveals himself to be a swordsman and Sanji defeats him, I'll be willing to seriously entertain the possibility that non Zoro Strawhats can defeat strong swordsmen. Otherwise, all the formidable swordsmen adversaries have been felled by Zoro.

Cutting gravity itself
Zoros opponent is Fujitora

Kizaru never used sword when he fought marco, when he got caught by benn beckham he used beam not sword slashes I dont know if your trying to call him a swordsmen but hes not unless he bust out that sword move since he cant use any other style until that deactivates

I already answered this:
It’s too early to say “Fujitora will abandon the world government” when they have a more aligned goals than fuji and Luffy do.

Fujitoras position gives him access to men and resources to assist in the protection of the citizens.

Fujitora has shown no sign of desertion, his only issue with the Marines was already resolved and he protected celestial dragons and their slaves in Mariejoa against revolutionaries who care more for the people than pirates do.

Fujitora considers his slate with Luffy already equal by letting him escape

Fujitora would never side with people like Barto or Sulieman you know, murderers and war criminals.

Drake has orange hair, so orange can be his color. Drake is one of the rising stars of the Marines and one of the more important Supernovas, so him becoming an Admiral eventually makes sense.
He's gonna have to be masters at both Haki for that to happen, that trash devil fruit wont get him nowhere close to an admiral position, maybe koby

Napoleon is a real sword imbued with BM's soul.
Not the same thing.
Dude has a Light Fruit and uses it to create a freaking sword? That's just uninspired IMO.
Robin managed to hold off Hakuba. She could easily clutch him to death right there.
Saying that Hacchi was a "good" swordsman is kinda a weird thing, especially when later on he acts more like a regular brawler.
Ohm, as I said, is more like a "gimmick whip" than an actual sword. Same with Kaku. Oda pulled those "blades" out of his ass.
But the thing is, I'm not saying Zoro doesnt fight sword users. I'm just saying that it is not something that makes it so he HAS to be the one to fight them.
Considering that 99% of people use some kind of blade, do we assume that Zoro is gonna fight everyone? Is Catarina Devon also a Zoro matchup? She pulled a sword against Moria.
Zoro can get "stronger" by fighting anybody that demands him to get stronger.
The ONLY swordsman he HAS to fight, is Mihawk. I include Shiryu because I dont see him fighting anyone else in BB's crew. Not because of the sword.

I like Kizarus sword because of what it represents. That the mirror and the jewel which make up his primary attacks are all named after the Japanese treasures passed down which is honestly a cool naming scheme

Oh the history behind it is cool indeed.
BUt still lame to make him use a generic sword for the majority of the fight. :kayneshrug:
