General & Others How did Shanks>Mihawk become so popular?

Luffy got just stronger with developments on his haki .. still kicks and punches as always did and adv coc wont change that simple fact even if single stare with coc creates quakes and bring darkness to world..
Whatever Adv coc brings to swordsman , Wss has to show something greater even if its tiny bit.. Thats what portrayal means..
CoC isnt CoA you combine with weapons, i honestly don't know what Adv CoC would look like but I agree Mihawk beats Shank if it's a sword fight.

Concession accepted🤙🏾
I concede nothing! Going down with this ship.

He beats Shanks by portrayal alone . Brawler with addition of coo (fs) + coa (adv)+ coc + df , countless gears and still remains brawler . adv coc wont be exception just like for swordsmen also.. Especially when basic coo and coa shits on coc at 1v1 battles at this stage of story.
Even on Shanks side , he used his sword aganist formidable people while coc on fodders and sea king. His clashes with mihawk made history rather than his coc .Wb with his gura , Chinjao with his head. list goes on

So if Shanks strongest attack doesn't include his sword, he's still a swordsman and Mihawk automatically wins?
I don't really agree but I get it.

Mihawk fans: His slash did nothing to Jozu because he has achieved the pinnacle of swordsmanship and can only cut that which he sets his mind to.
also Mihawk fans: LOOK AT THE ULTIMATE POWER OF HIS SLASH, he missed Luffy but sliced this massive ice thanks to the unrestrained destructive power of his swordsmanship.
Anti-Mihawk NPC: "Jozu easily blocked Mihawk."
Me: "Cracker easily blocked an attack that hurt Kaido."
Anti-Mihawk NPC: "REEEEEEE!!!!!!!"

I don't know about you guys, but here's one detail I haven't seen being pointed out yet.

When Mihawk went to see Shanks after Luffy got his first bounty. It was Shanks who started first by inviting him to a duel. Why this detail makes Mihawk > Shanks? Because it is stated that Mihawk lost interest in Shanks right after the later lost his arm, and that was like 10 years ago. It means that Shanks is still "living" in the past, the past when he was still up to be Mihawk's rival. And I can't imagine that is the only time, Shanks and Mihawk met in those 10 years, so after being turned down several times, Shanks still insists on the idea of dueling Mihawk.

If this doesn't scream Mihawk > Shanks, or Shanks has some Mihawkcomplex :milaugh:

> Popular character from the beginning of the series
> Mentor figure for main character
> Yonkou
> split the heavens when clashed with whitebeard
> stopped mf war

Nah it wouldn't Blackbeard is gonna clap Shanks cheeks so when Zoro defeats Mihawk he will still be the wss
I think that Zoro beats Mihawk during Elbaf. Mihawk will ally with the RHP. Shanks said at the end of WCI that he and Luffy will be meeting soon, so they should logically meet each other after Wano since Luffy will be beating Kaido and BM in Wano, and Elbaf is most likely the next arc. Luffy, Zoro, and Usopp will fight their idols, Shanks, Mihawk, and Yasopp, in Elbaf, and surpass them. Also, it would make sense for Zoro to prove himself as the strongest swordsman in Elbaf, an island that is all about strength and fighting. Zoro’s next fights will be Shiryu, who kills Mihawk via dirty methods and thus throws Zoro’s WSS status into question, and then Zoro fights Shodai Kitetsu Gorosei

What attack are you talking about?

Hype is irrelevant when he's a swordsman.
Shanks being > mihawk means zoro has a fake dream
Yh I agree

The only reason mihawk didnt became a yonko is bc he doesn't have a crew and army at his ad mihawk power is most likely above shanks the guy has one arm and mihawk lost interest I fighting him bc of that mihawk is a lone yonko, if u take away shanks crew and army he'll be like mihawk a lone yonko

He didn’t challenge him. He said if you’ve come here for a fight I’m in a bad mood. As if he was expecting Mihawk to challenge him.

or more simply, neither slash had haki:
- a diamond-man is able to block a haki-less slash since it's just wind.
- an iceberg is able to be cut by a haki-less slash since it's just wind.

No need to think too much into it, probably not even Oda tries to justify everything.
Jozu is one of the people with toughest bodies so stopping a flying slash is expected but we saw from mr1 that flying slash and direct slash are two different things. People dont realize that Jozu is more suited to withstand the slash than Whitebeard is...

I know it has a lot to do with youtubers almost all of them seem to think shanks is stronger then Mihawk and they are influencers so most people will just follow their lead, but why did most of them just huddle around this thought? I used to be shanks>Mihawk to until I thought about It for more then 5 minutes, so how did a ridiculous notion get so popular? Not trolling rn I’m genuinely curious how this happened.
They do this because of the following:

1.) Luffy's role model despite the fact that we have insurmountable evidence that WB was the strongest man at that time. Doesn't help the fact that Luffy is actually gunning for the PK title and not some second rate silver medalist tier.
2.) One who people think Oda is modeled after which.... doesn't really relate to power level AT ALL.
3.) Clashed with the WSM but it was just a single sword clash which resulted in... you guessed it. Nothing at all. Where as most fights with no interference last a couple of days.
4.) The Mihawk vs. Vista fight which people, for whatever reason, underestimate Vista's fighting prowess. I mean, you have Brook, Robin, Franky, all these "insects" compared to the so called "god-like Emperors", taking jab at them like going down ez street lane. Bowling balled? Motorcycle to the face? Blitzed by Brook? Asked papa WB for help? Snitched with the WG?

Most Emperor fans are easy to please. They don't read between the lines and often at times get shredded and dunked on in debates.
Pro admiral fans use concrete evidence and logic whereas pro emperor fans resort to emotional and meager hype. Example?
"One Piece is a pirates manga. Luffy is a pirate! Therefore, emperors are automatically stronger than the admirals. No ifs or buts."
Bruh. :seriously:

It's less that Vista fought Mihawk and more that Marco was confident enough to tell Vista to "go handle him."
