Not really. Both attacks try to disable the opponent’s movement and both were shown that they can be overpowered if the opponent is strong enough.

but one is material string and one is just a force.. you can still over come a force.. gradually... but you can't do that with strings.. you can't gradually make your way through string, its just in one fell swoop

Sanji literaly did not know about his DF, what was even highlighted in the same and next chapter. Doffy used invisible threads and catched Sanji off guard with it. Sanji did not know what hit him first and the second time when he got caught by Doffy's threads he still didn't know what it was.

Sanji never struggled physicaly with Doffy, but Doffy did when he blocked one of Sanji's attacks. ''Ugh!... It's quite strong!!''
The only reason Sanji lost was because he was caught off guard by Doffy's DF.

Doflamingo blocked and dodged all of Sanji’s attacks without the help of his fruit. Why are you giving all the credit to Doflamingo’s fruit? Sanji even got a free hit at the start of the fight and still lost.

Free hit? Sanji was even talking to him while he was flying towards Doffy and he looked directly at Sanji and blocked the attack. There was no free hit.

Doflamingo also kicked Law’s ass and pre-Gear 4th Luffy’s ass. There’s no shame in Sanji getting his ass kicked as well, Chrono.
