1001-1003 had plenty of good action being performed from both sides. Your interpretation of the Yonko not doing anything since then isn't a fact, Oda is just the master of off-screening stuff.
If anything it's implied in the latest chapter that the action has continued since we left off, but since the SN haven't posed a super serious threat yet, and they have taken the initiative so far, BM and Kaido have basically just repelled attacks and enjoyed seeing their tenacity.
The fact that they still have their cocky smiles pretty much shows us that the Yonko haven't needed to go all out yet.

Yonkos think they are far stronger than supernova. They just wanna enjoy what SN are gonna dish out and totally crush them afterwards. I don't see any problem with that. It's natural human tendency imo.
Kaido and BM are tanking everything SN are throwing out. By not taking damage, they are already crushing SN's spirits(except for Luffy's). Kaido and BM are one of the strongest pirates in the world, they will have huge pride. I don't think their pride will allow themselves to go all out unless they are forced to.

Stop it, it has absolutely nothing to do with "reread" or it being "weekly released". People were saying the same crap regarding Dressrosa and WCI, "it's better when you reread". No! The writing itself is garbage. Rereading Dressrosa or WCI was even worse because you learn more on how bad it is after the reread it.
Kindly drop one piece...it is better for your mental health and also people who read one piece here...no one is forcing to read "garbage"....why do you even involve yourself with something like "garbage"....now, if you say you are reading One Piece for so called mysteries, then take rest until that so called "mystery unveiling" chapter comes into play...why do you have to mentally torture yourself every week posting same "garbage" talk...

coming to current topic, roof piece definitely disappointed me but atleast stakes/tension are present in roof piece compared to dome piece...dome piece beast pirate group are incompetent as fuck including second in command King.....

You have missed the panel in Chapter 1001 where Kaido tells Big Mom :-"Stand back Linlin. I want to see how strong these brats are".
to which Big Mom replied :-"Playing with your food again huh?".
If Yonkos went full offensive then Kaido would have used thunder bagua on all SNs so far & not just on Luffy , he would have used Awakening etc as well. But so far none. Yonkos are fighting but haven't gone full offensive for now.
Also Oda is not Murata. Oda doesn't like to draw fight scenes which leads to so much offpanel skipping of other fights in the series as well.

I'll wait for us to get a few more chapters of it first but the start of the battle was interesting. The Yonko are getting more serious (though still not attacking very often) while the Supernova are on the ropes. It's alright at the moment though I'd rather Oda finish everything below the roof (or atleast most of it) then go all out on the roof.
