Given that Zoro obviously attacked them multiple times offscreen, judging by his further down comment and his injured state. I'd say his current self has a hard time cutting Hybrid Kaido properly, not saying he wont as the fight progresses but its just the correct conclusion to come to imo.

I understand that but Oda showed them having great concern over his flying dragon blaze. Which indicates that attack woukd have caused either one severe injury.

It would make more sense for Zoro to talk about gathering more haki to injury them him ask how he's suppose to beat them.

That was on Dragon form Kaido though, and sure it wouldve hurt Kaido more than anything that was thrown at him, i believe that attack was close to a top tier attack. Still below Oden as Zoro's entire plot this arc is to Mimic/Surpass him but hurtful enough to be cause for concern.

But it seems like his Hybrid is even tankier, and by a good deal. Like Zoro was injuring him witha tatsumaki and here we see Kaido with almost no damage.

I think its a combo of using more Haki and growh in battle like Rayleigh told Luffy, he'll manage eventually.
