Apparently Oda's editor has stated that the countdown to end the series in 5 years has begun.

The way we have been just stormed with information to the endgame during the last arcs (Zou, WCI, Reverie and Wano) I could see this work, also something I thought we would only see in the end of the series was already revealed, WB and Roger bounties...
In 5 years we have roughly 230 chapters, would that be enough to end the series in a good way? Let me hear your thoughts!

I'll just mention other important points from the interview.
Oda's says
“Wano Kuni hen is a story deeply related to the final episode of ONE PIECE ”.
" The name of the final island is 'LAUGH TALE' as it was shown at the end of the STAMPEDE movie." It is true and 100% canon.

Wano Koku Hen is the most important arc that you should definitely read to know the basics of ONE PIECE. I can affirm. This arc will lead to the biggest core of "What is ONE PIECE?"
He insists everyone read the Wano Kuni hen.

Luffy is yet to take down any of Top tiers by himself, while he has claimed to, take all of em in the past. So there's definitely going to be some rushing on Oda's part here. Or it will streched to 7-8 years easily.

Much more so when you see him unnecessarily streching Wano while introducing hell loads of characters, which would take good amount of these chapters by emself.

I am guessing, BM n Kaidou are definitely going down this arc.
Luffy might not fight RHPs, not even compete in some kind of games.

Luffy+ SHs will take on the Admirals, and it will be included in an all out battle like MF.

Chances of Im Sama+ Gorosie being a force to reckon with are also small if it is to be assumed true.

Honestly, I'm not really surprised. Even though it's really saddening to hear that, this means that Wano is already the end came content.

Many fans thought this was just a joke, and that one piece would end in like 10 years or even more, but one day everything will end.

What happens now in Wano is going to lead to something even greater. Wano is one of the most important arcs in one piece.

It's not impossible, and if Oda is really going out of his way to stress the 5 year dead line so much, then I have no reason to doubt him.
  • Still I wonder how Oda is going to pull it off, because one thing's clear, he has to cut the story short at certain points, and Elbaf is currently the prime candidate.
- Oda needs another 40-50 chapters to wrap up Wano, which will take more then a year in itself, so 4 years left.
- Elbaf has to be a transition arc with tons of crucial information, it just has to be. Around 25 Chapters is my guess.
- Raftel shouldn't be any shorter than 50 chapters since it's THE arc, where we find out what everybody wants to know since they started watching the series.
- Final war is 100 chapters at the bare minimum, nothing below that.

Oda needs another 270-300 chapters to pull this off while meeting the expectations of the fandom.

Elbaf being a transition arc would be really lame. I don't believe it.

I think Oda wants to end one piece in a way that would make all his fans happy, and making Elbaf into a transition arc would be terrible. I'm sure that he would take more time, if needed, to end one piece properly.

Well I don't know, as he said Wano will give lots of information about the endgame and the One Piece itself but I agree for me it is ending in 6 or 7 years..

Well I do too, with 2024 being the most optimistic option with Oda getting everything done in the way he wants in those 5 years..

The only top tier Luffy will solo 100% is Akainu
With BM is 50/50 after wano if he can solo her
He will have little help vs Teach.

Wano might relaly be the end of both Kaido and BM (I used to believe only kaido but BM going down too won't be so bad at all)

People should have realised the moment we hit Yonko Saga , OP was ending...
Yonko Saga is luffy gaining PUs and becoming Yonko level at the end of The Saga .

WCI (vs Kata) > Luffy becomes Inbetweener with FS
Wano (vs Kaido with help) > Solid Top tier with adcoa + FS
Elbaf vs (vs BM? ) > upper Admiral level with AdCoC/FS/AdCoA
Paradise (vs Teach) > solid Yonko level with awakening + all 3 advanced haki
Raftel > PK
War vs WG > defeats Akainu or Imu 1 vs 1.

We will see/hear about Revos Marines Shanks inbetween the pause of each arc...
Revos and Shanks will get mini side arc like Ace vs Teach was

Teach is guaranteed his arc after elbaf.

Void Century infos that will drop this arc and others at raftel arc

Marines? There will be final showdown after raftel

End of Old era indeed. She's the only one from old era who hasn't retired.
