Questions & Mysteries Who was the fifth survivor of Rocks?

#1

As we can see, Oda has a fifth unknown man who survived the Rocks incident. This man i Believe of course is dead since there's no sign that he survived past this stage into the Yonkou Era.

Whoever he is, he is greatly irrelevant to the current story, Even more irrelevant than Shiki himself, so I expect the best use he has in the story is Lore for something else.

Here's my theory on who this is. It's a man called Vander Decken.

well Sengoku said that Shiki,Silver Axe, Captain John and Ou Choku became famous/influent after Rocks's defeat Shiki is in the panel too so it should be one of the 3 Silver Axe, Captain John or Ou choku

I see it in 2 ways:
1 st maybe it'sa bit forced but he can be Captain John bc 1 he have long hair and he was a general Zombie like Ryuma so he had to be quite a strong guy when he was alive and he is on the right like WB (which is dead and Captain John is dead too it's a bit forced since it's just a coincidence but who knows with Oda)

2 since he is there with all the 4 big shots he might be another guy still alive (Silver Axe or Ou choku maybe) that is going to have some impact in the future

imho he is one of the 3 mentioned by sengoku

Either Silver Axe or Captain John. the hat is western themed so it can't be Wang Zhi.
Hmm... but what if Ochoku is from West Blue?

There are some islands with Western themes (Shanks cover story, Bege's hometown).

But to be fair, I just see a pirate Captain hat.

I expect Wang Zhi to originate from the grand line like Apoo who's also a Chinese themed pirate and originates from the grand line.

Apoo's name was based on the 19th century real-life Chinese pirate Chui A-Poo
Ochoku's name was based on the real-world Chinese pirate lord of the 1500s Wang Zhi

So he a longarm? Since they have a chinese based style

I don't think that there were only five of them who survived, Sengoku said that Silver Ax and Captain John became famous and powerful pirates in their own right and we know how powerful Shiki became after. Also it's very likely that Ms Bakkin was a member of the crew too.
