Haki runs out. The more you use it, the faster it runs out. Akainu can fight for 10 days. Let Luffy block it for some hours, but he'll get weakened eventually.

I'm sure Aokiji and Akainu used Haki for 10 days, since it would make no sense to spam their elements at each other without doing harm. And in the end it was said that Akainu had mercy and didn't kill Aokiji. Implying he could, which means he had still Haki left after 10 days

By the way some people were claiming that Law can't teleport people against their will, but Zoro actually didn't want to be teleported when Promotheus / Zeus got away, but Law could still teleport him regardless. So that theory just went out of the window

Luffy ain't Akainu and he has shown difficulties with stamina all throughout his career. The Admirals definitely didn't use Advanced Haki for like 10 days straight.

Idk if its me, but Zoro being out of this fight completely doesn't sit right narratively. Luffy screaming that he doesn't need help, but its hard to believe, when prior chapters showed he needed help. Taking my zkk glasses off for a sec, Zoro still need to keep his word and cut kaido down, Luffy doesn't kill, leads Kaido to getting back up...
