1. All of the fights you mentioned had Sanji already injured and this Sanji is basically completely fresh only punched by Black Maria a bit. It’s not like when Sanji was forced to let Pearl break him or when Nami got blown up in his body and therefore didn’t have any haki.
2. Doffy was a bad matchup in general not because of fighting but because Sanji had no knowledge of his devil fruit and lost heavily due to that. Vergo and Sanji were pretty even without either going all out and again, Sanji was already injured, Judge literally cheated to win that fight in his fire proof suit...
3. Zoro is not fighting anyone in his current condition and Sanji won’t fight anyone until Marco is taken out. Why would Sanji fight Queen if Marcos still up? This is why Perosepero is there, to make sure Marco goes down.
4. Absalom was Moriahs right hand man in thriller bark. Kuroobi was the second strongest of Arlong Park.
5. Honestly, King or Queen are probably high diff fights if Sanji doesn’t get a power up right now. If he did they’re both mid diffs. Neither have been necessarily impressive.
There are plenty of reasons for Sanji vs Queen over Sanji vs King, these are just not good ones.
1. regardless of injury or not sanji did not best those characters. And its happened more than once so its not just a coincidence anymore. Sanji does not do well against 2nd.
2. Doflamingo being faster and more agile in the air than Sanji on top of having his devilfruit abilities is what allowed him to really best sanji as quickly as he did. Vergo was able to press Sanji quickly without going all out by matching Sanjis speed and agility, Which proves my point that character who can match sanjis key attributes are difficult for Sanji to overcome.
3. Zoro has fought in worse conditions ,
4. Thriller Bark was a unique case, Absalom was not the 2nd strongest in Thriller he was actually the 4th.
1. Moria 2.Oars 3. Ryuma were the top 3.
Kuroobi being stronger than Hatchi is Subjective, Zoro likely would've taken out Kuroobi faster than Hatchi.
5. King can easily match Sanjis attributes, Queen has not shown any speed/agility or even good close combat ability.
Sanji first of all is plot wise, despite his encounter with King, more linked towards Queen. For the way he had labeled him in relation to Germa, he may know Judge personally, who knows. So this encounter could be beneficial to progress on that matter.
Also Sanji currently lacks the right amount of hype and portrayal, expecially AP wise.
Just gonna talk about number 3, Zoro is down bad and coughing up blood. Last chapter, he said he was gonna use everything he has left. How's he gonna fight King?
As for Marco, this arc has been about the SHs and New Gen coming into their own. Is Marco going to join the SH?
King was just getting started, most likely, whilst he failed to perforate Sanji's suit. Who guarantees he could not under standard conditions? And also who guarantees that he would fail to make Sanji experience much more pain the he experienced against Page One and Sanji would withstand it?
They are introduced at the same time and contrasted with the other All Star as definitive superiors to him, while they go back and forth and don't take orders from each other
Zoro thinks that both routes guarded by the two make it for a difficult journey to the top
And they get comparable portrayal in many sequences, with the latest one being their vs Marco
Where Marco doesn't single out one of them as much more troublesome than the other, talking about the two in the same breath.
Obviously we all know King is stronger than Queen, but for a YC2 Queen is getting significant amount of hype and direct comparison with the YC1 of the beast pirates.
If Katakuri was the definitive peerless kid of Big Mom, and at no point a clear separation was made between Smoothie and Cracker to put her on a completely different level, for the Beast Pirates King and Queen are the standout subordinates of Kaido who have served under him for decades and were highlited ever since Oden and the Scabbards tried to fight Kaido in the past
shown since back then alongside their captain as basically his right and left hand men ever since his early days.
That's the kind of shit you're not getting from your average non FM YC, so put due respect on Queen's name :queenhear:

It's so boring to repeat the same things over and over
1. "Historically Sanji does not do well against the 2nd strongest in crews"
Let's see if it's true: he was the one who defeated Kuroobi, the second strongest, he never encountered Mr1 or Ohm and he got kicked once by Kaku while Luffy and Zoro were thrown on the other side of the city. Why am i stopping at Kaku?
Because, if you didn't notice, against Vergo and Gin he was in bad physical conditions, he didn't defeat anyone in the arc and it wasn't neither Zoro or Luffy to defeat them. Nobody defeated Gin and Law defeated Vergo.
So no, there is no pattern. He didn't do well just against Vergo and Gin, and those were not strawhats' real opponents.
I excluded King for two reason:
- Sanji did great against him, Luffy says those kind of things all the times (even against Katakuri);
- King is actually the third strongest enemy.
2. "Fighting people who have similar abilities puts Sanji at a disadvantage"
Proceeds with mentioning:
- Doflamingo, DR's boss, who never attacked Sanji with a kick and used a broken ability to defeat Sanji;
- Vergo, again. See 1.
- Judge, not only Sanji's father or a guy unable to hurt Sanji using named attack but even wearing a fireproof suit.
Were they really fighting with similar abilities excluding Vergo (see 1.)?
3. The Presence of Zoro and Marco downstairs
Pick one, which one is King's opponent: Zoro or Marco? Btw, Zoro is in no condition to fight, he already had fighting panels equivalent to the ones of his "normal" fights on the roof and Big Mom is the second strongest. Marco isn't a strawhats or a supernova, he won't defeat anyone important.
Let's see why Sanji should fight King instead:
Not today, I'm working on something
4. Even in some of Sanjis best arcs in the series he still fought 3rd strongest
It just isn't true.
Kuroobi, Wadatsumi and Absalom are considered the third strongest because Sanji fought them. Kuroobi's prototype was Arlong RHM, Wadatsumi was Van Der Decken strongest fighter and Absalom was the zombie leader, even Ryuma's. Absalom was basically unaffected by Nami's lightning, he was much stronger than Kalifa.
Notice how Kuroobi, the first opponent after he joined the crew, is a pretty serious guy and, probably, the second strongest. And Sanji just rejoined the crew. Will King be the next Kuroobi? I've said too much
Btw King might be considered the 3rd strongest enemy so
5. "The Difficulty of Sanjis Fights"
Oda is treating King and Queen quite the same, Queen is a walking gag so he has his funny moments but he didn't do worse than King fighting-wise. They both succeeded in stopping Big Mom.
Sanji is not going to mid diff any calamity anytime soon.
Non badass characters are just more likely to be seen in difficult situation but they are not weaker for that.
Smoothie is undefeated, Jack is still alive and kicking after fighting an army and two YC level guys together and Cracker lasted half a day against Luffy and Nami.
To make it simple: Queen =< King for the moment and difficulty is based on strength not on how much a character is serious and stoic.
