Well it's not like she's the first character whose personality was changed, Hacchan in Saobody and FI wasn't the same Hacchan than in Arlong Park arc who was a perfect accomplice to Arlong's anti-human actions, or Sengoku who isn't the same admiral that coldly followed the Buster Call plan for Ohara.
