The statements is mutually related. Just like this debate:
If Kaido didn't compare Luffy to any of them then why is the panel is there? Man, if Kaido was putting Zoro on the same line as Roger, WB, Xebec, Shanks and Oden than y'all would have said that Zoro is as strong as them Lmao.

How does kaido koing luffy in 2 attacks show luffy is on kaidos level able to fight him like those 5 ?

Kaido fought with his slowest form two times in a row against the scabbards and the supernova for no reason, the Big Mom flied above their head throwing lightning, then Kaido uses his hybrid just to look less threatening than his human form and at last, after everyone hurt him (even a veteran level character like Killer), Luffy learnt to use CoC offensively and is fighting more or less on par with hybrid Kaido.
It just doesn't make any sense, we have to accept it, hope most of it is offpanelled and pray to see the strawhats fight.

The first time he got kod he didn't die because kaido didn't want to kill him and sent him to udon. If kaido wanted to kill him there would be nothing luffy could do.
The second time as luffy himself acknowledged by thanking them for it
