Oda said Monsters is canon to the OP world. It's like a prequel. Both Ryumas are one and the same.

The problem is that Yoru was never ment to show that Black Blades were the end all. One Piece wasnt supposed to be this long back when chapter 50 came out.

Oda retconned the Black Blade to be something swordsman can strive for.
