Nibba no one cares. At this point send Sanji to the roof. He'd take care of this fish.
Hahaha

One thing to add is we don't see kaido using hakai like attacks/beam like attacks such as yamato's ringing arrow...........even half the hakai should be ridiculously powerful.........can luffy completely tank such an attack?
if he can tank signature moves like Ragnorak that left the roof indented with its force and had Acoc in it and was execute in kaido's Hybrid form.. then i don't see why can't he tank Hakai like attacks and survive if he was fairly fresh

Now let's get to the point.. was it a mid diff? or a high diff

i wonder if a mid diff would get kaido excited

its safe to assume that it was a mid-high
and we aren't even assuming that luffy used his gears...

look I'm just assuming luffy's gonna jump back from mid-air gear 4 and Yamato enters the fight as well

then its going to be a High diff for kaido

this is one piece mate ... people will retune to finish their job

Luffy
Zoro
Kidd
Law
Yamato
Appo
X-Drake
Hawkins
Momo (???)

Toki said 9 shadows will bring the new dawn and will open wano ... so I do believe Kaido will lose a 1 Vs 9
Maybe only 3 or 4 of them can damage Kaido significantly. Once Kaido starts attacking it's one shot everywhere.
Besides a lot of these guys will be tired or defeated from another fight.

1v9 is too much, it was already not that nice of a fight when it was 2v5, with a 1v9 it's going to be unwatchable.

First of all, Luffy only matched ordinary club strikes of Kaido, not his techniques like Thunder Bagua or Rag Naraku.
You don't know that; most was off panelled.
In addition, we could see a single instance when both Hybrid Kaido and Luffy dealt equal COC blows.

Thunder Bagua cannot knock him out. Neither can Ragnarok like that.

It has to be something different - and that's @Luffy is the mc's point.

Kaido told Luffy that he got cocky because he thought he could stand up to Kaido after just learning how to infuse his attacks with Haoshoku.
He actually stood up to Kaido - that's why he was enjoying the fight.
However, something dramatically changed the narrative of the entire fight and Luffy could no longer match Kaido. We can just see base Kaido looking disappointed.

Kaido was in Base because he had already defeated Luffy and he's falling back down to see.
I know; but exactly that's why it's noteworthy how Kaido actually defeated Luffy.

Did he show a completely new attack which knocked Luffy out? Or was it actually Kaido's awakening which turned the tables?

I don't think Luffy will fight Kaido again for at least 5 maybe even over 10 chapters.
Perhaps, but I think Luffy's KO won't last that long in-story time.

People are using the time to imply that luffy has reached a high difference, BIG MOM fought for 3 days with KAIDO, and didn't get him excited, his supposed "equal", didn't get him excited, luffy got him excited doesn't mean luffy is above BIG MOM? in 30 minutes ? Do not.

"I knew it would end like this", a supposed equal does not know how things will end if your opponent is forcing you to use everything yourself and is still doing well, but KAIDO knew from the start.

"You got a new weapon and you bragged."

What do the words of kaido mean here? Kaido considers arrogance on the part of Luffy to think that he could defeat him just by having obtained a new power, although powerful, more insufficient.

It's basically like, "Oh, so you think you can beat me for just being able to use ADCOC, something I've been using for decades, that's arrogance."

"I haven't been excited for a while."

I think here, at the moment that KAIDO was excited, he lost control for a moment and defeated him, he was kind of excited to see what luffy could do with his super powerful weapon that he got, and so it lasted longer than it would take him to defeat him, he was looking forward to seeing what luffy would be capable of after ADCOC.

If Luffy used G4, in the end, and Kaido defeated him in a medium, high, he is perfectly fine, there is no human being who denies the fact that the current G4 Luffy with all HAKi is a legitimate higher level, he has strength statistics and HAKI above the admirals.

its another way to say that luffy match kaido's physical strength

Kaido told Luffy that he got cocky because he thought he could stand up to Kaido after just learning how to infuse his attacks with Haoshoku.
its also seems like luffy wasn't using any gears.. if he was using gear 4 he'd have gas coming out of him.

and Luffy did stand up to him for dozens of minutes and fought him which got Kaido fired up.. luffy always is cocky its his personality but the fact that now kaido regrets nt killing him coz with people and his crew believing in him luffy surely becomes a force to be reckoned with.. if you read between the lines you'd get what Kaido said

I don't think Luffy will fight Kaido again for at least 5 maybe even over 10 chapters.
lets make a bet

luffy comes back in 5 chaps or so if the roof top is covered

I don't think Kaido will be disappointed after someone pushes him to solid high let alone extreme difficulty TBH.
Kaido wasn't disappointed.. he knew its going to wind up the way it did, what he regrets is not killing luffy for good.. coz he knows if people kept believing in him things can get "dangerous"
It doesn't seem like Luffy gave Kaido an enjoyable enough fight.
why did Kaido get fired up then?

Hi, i read the spanish translation of One Piece, and i came across the english version of the final panel and i noticed its quite different. I think the english translation missed some important details that make the scene so much powerful.
Even the parts that have the same meaning, i enjoyed the way its expressed in the spanish translation.

English translation

Spanish translation

Spanish version, translated to english, as literal as i could.

-Since the beggining i knew this would be the result. (Basically same meaning)

-At the end, you were just another fool that got a powerful weapon that doesnt know how to use
(the spanish translation has more context, Kaido compares Luffy to previous opponents he may have faced in the past. Hes clearly talking about how Luffy unlocking advanced conquerous doesnt mean hes nearly at his level yet)

-Humans never lose hope... no
They dont stop believing!!... thats annoying... thats what makes them dangerous!!

(english translation isnt as clear here, Kaidos words can be interpreted as if its dangerous for humans to not abandon faith because they get cocky, but what he means is that humans are so dangerous because they never lose hope.)

-Its been a long time since anyone made me lose my cool like this... i think i commited a mistake...
(basically the same)

-Instead of throwing you off, i should have cut you head and declared my victory
(same)

The final panel, which for me is the clear difference why the english translation doesnt have the same aura to it.

-NOW EVERYONE WILL STILL THINK YOU CAN DEFEAT ME
(Oda is talking directly at us here. Hes saying, yeah you thought Luffy could defeat the Yonko Kaido, and you still do, despite Kaido being clearly so superior that he had the chance to cut Luffy's head if he wanted to, he could have killed Luffy right here. We know that at the end Luffy will win somehow, but its not going to be any easy, and it will probably require a lot of luck, the odds are stacked against the alliance but them succeeding is what will make it so legendary)

-BUT DO YOU EVEN STILL BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT...?
(Kaido questions if its even posible that Luffy's spirit is not broken after getting beaten up so hard, he showed him that he had no chance to defeat him at this moment. Even Kaido aknowledged for never losing his smile during battle, and compared him to Roger and other legends, so for him to question Luffy's will now, it means that he completely destroyed him)

This final panel is very serious, and i think that the English translation doesnt hold the same weight, the way its written is way more generic, like the many times Kaido has gotten a serious blow on Luffy. This time is clearly different, but the translation doesnt reflect that.

Don't know how much difference will be in vizz translation but this indeed looks powerful but let us see what viz will say about it......

-At the end, you were just another fool that got a powerful weapon that doesnt know how to use

this means that Luffy CoC imbued technique is powerful but still not using it properly...so indirectly implies that all Luffy needs to use it in a right away to be on next level.....in other words, Luffy has all the tools that required to beat Kaido but he just needs to maximize the output by optimizing the usage of his arsenal.....

if above context is true, then Luffy doesn't really need any new power up like Awakening to beat Kaido....he has all the tools.....he just need to modify and improvise his techniques with appropriate haki usage...

Great post. So the English translation left important details out...

As I said, Haki bloom is the answer.

No idea...just let us wait for viz.....but this minor details make the dialogue even more powerful, more contextual and drastic impact on future implications...

@DANIM12 made the thread about it but didn't get enough attention and so I took the liberty to post here because this is interesting....

Actually i interpreted the part where kaido refers to people's faith in luffy in the same manner, that luffy being alive still poses a threat and with people's hopes on him and certainty luffy has become a force to be reckoned with..
thats also why he further elaborated that.. they'd stop believing if he kills luffy and shows them the evidence right

you can infer that kaido is disappointed in himself for keeping luffy alive

COZ HE'S GON COME BACK 2 FOLD
