LMFAO! Crocodile vs Luffy actually made fing sense. Luffy threw a water balloon which landed on him after croc attack which was smart writing by Oda. Now with Kaido we just have Luffy being saved time and time again without any progression. It’s just Luffy running around in circles

idk it kinda implies that kaido is above consequences. as how many time luffy does get saved kaido will still win.
thus he give 0 shit, not killing his enemy, allowing other to surrender, etc. In the end, he is kaido so why should he care.

if kaido really just want to kill people he would not have bothered to create the rooftop situation in the first place

And I would argue that, even discounting the Corazon flashback (which I think is silly because by definition flashbacks are meant to form connections with characters), what we got was still superior to the scabbards. Oda really goofed with them imo.

It's not about discounting it or how good ir was, my point is that it wasn't the emotional force behind the conflict other than for Law himself.
Like, if we got a really good flashback between Yamato and Kaido involving her mother and people resonated with it more than with Oden's, the emotional conclit of the arc would still be the tragedy of Kozuki and Wano.
