I find it funny how people are simultaneously frustrated that the arc is too long and dragged out but also that it's rushed and offscreens stuff too often.

Perhaps Oda really bit off more than he could chew this time. We keep getting these byte-sized updates on everyone every other chapter but very little focus.

The problem is instead of showing actual important stuff like the main characters fighting, he wants to show us boring shit like Tama and Big Mom’s “Mother Mode”

I’ve used that anime only scene more than anyone, and I can assure you there wasn’t a decisive victor lol. Gaban & Oden looked even. And even then we have to be realistic and admit we are using an anime only scene to scale which is not solid ground at all.

From what we seen in next time they appear, Gaban doesn't have injuries while Oden does, so presumably he beat him in Midd-Diff or High-Diff if he was shown fine from their fighting. Oda stated flashbacks are canon given he ask for them to be extended by him.

Probably the funniest thing is going to be when come end of Wano when the new emperors are Luffy, Kidd, Shanks, and Blackbeard, I’ll get to come back to these smartasses comments lol. Just baffles me that some people think Oda would write a rival character that is a conquerer, parallels Luffy in 100 ways, is obviously being set up to have relevance past this arc with Shanks just to make him a scrub. Y’all sound dumb. Just wait.
