I also enjoy when he's beaten, it was very good to see him beaten by the Enraged Army and Katakuri and even better to see Kaido one-shotting him.

Agreed it makes him more human. I'm not a big fan of his plot armor cause the New world has to be hard

I don't watch the anime, the pace is too damn slow.
But I suppose the next episode is about luffy vs kaido.
People are going to be disappointed by kaido in the manga when luffy will only need a few hours to take him down.

Every other straw hat would have done the same if they saw someone they like being attacked (here it was tama a simple child) and thought their crew was in danger. And that includes sanji and zoro.
Proof is when yasu was executed and otoko was in danger they both took actions.
