It does have the hallmarks of a classic “let’s nerf Zoro” moment.

Really depends on the villains of Elbaf, whether it’s a chill arc or not. Usopp’s gonna be the main non-Luffy Strawhat, so it might be a good excuse for Zoro to be kept to the side a bit. If the villains are meant to be threatening, but not a massive, entire crew needs to fight thing, a nerfed Zoro would be a good thing. He can step back and let Usopp take center stage.

A even if it is a crew wide, massive threat, a nerfed Zoro could be good to add tension.

Yeah that's a classic element of an arc endmath. I would love to see a huge Samurai party taking place at last.

Post Wano? Zoro was nerfed Pre Onigashima raid. He is always nerfed. He was nerfed at chapter 1 for not being the protagonist.

This nerf thing is what makes Oda a terrible writer. He introduce us a new villain so powerful that not even at 100% our MC's are suppose to beat him, then Oda nerfs even more the MC's and buffs the villain only to come up with asspulling for MC's to beat that overpowered villain after them being so nerfed in this process.

Given the side effects of the miracle drug, Zoro is likely to be nerfed post Wano unless the crew stay in Wano for months just to recover.

It'll be similar to what happened after Thriller Bark and maybe even worse than that.

Story wise it will help Oda write in more difficulty and challenges with incoming enemies since a 100% SH crew will be tough for even Yonko level characters post Wano.

For Zoro fans it will be annoying to see him nerfed but if Zoro has more Wano feats incoming in the more immediate future I think it'll be okay.
