It's still a defeat. I don't care who got the last hit. Zoro still defeated Hordy in the same arc.
Anyways I'm not even thinking that Zoro is gonna defeat Kaidou. It's always gonna be Luffy. But some people act like after Kaidou is "defeated", then it's Arc over, nothing more to do "ahem Thriller Bark", that Zoro can't outshine Luffy in the same arc *ahem Thriller Bark again"
i have always agreed with zkk in that regard. but i still have a question..why would zoro go out of his way to kill a downed opponent ? he doesn't have hatred for kaido..and he didn't kill doffy when he was defeated by luffy..why this time? what changed?

Yamato is a Wiper/Kyros reskin living under the thumb of the big bad.
The way One Piece works -> Luffy finishes the important arc bosses.
Zoro didn't finish Hody (and he wasn't in his final form, and he wasn't difficult to beat in terms of strength anyway), and Morgan isn't important with Luffy holding no real animus against him.

If you continue to post in bad faith about this point, then I'll just have to laugh at you, because you would have to be allergic to reason or honor.

400 chapters of direct buildup, and one of three direct antagonists to Luffy's dream of becoming PK aren't getting overshadowed by your headcanon, believe it or not.
Will you actually cry real tears when Zoro kills Kaido? Will you stream it

I don't have a clear idea what would happen, but so far, nothing indicates that Zoro won't kill a downed opponent, especially since that Opponent is Kaidou, who has one of the most powerful Zoan fruits, which is known for its awakening that can quickly regenerate the user.

luffy defeats the main villain (most of the time) and then the main villain is left alive..zoro has never killed a main villain after luffy defeats one...why would kaido be different ? thats the flaw in "i want luffy to defeat kaido but zoro to kill him afterwards"

Zoro not rescuing because he ran out of oxygen underater not because he was defeated. He beat Hody.

Zoro is not on Luffy's level then why did Zoro spend most of the rooftop rescuing protecting Luffy and out performed Luffy.

Kaido is Hody. He's completely different creature altogether. He is a creature that must be killed to be stopped. Luffy doesn't have the power or ability to kill him. Luffy could claim he's going to beat Kaido a thousand times and he might but if he doesn't have the power to kill Kaido he will continue to return. The only person that does is Zoro.
I dont understand that logic.
Luffy don't said that Okey. But zoro said that I will take yasuea avange from orochi.
You don't accept that.

Honest question. Has Luffys performance been abysmal so far?
Ngl, he could have done better. He has been a bit small brained for someone who has been repeatedly praised for his battle smarts.
I am still a bit tight with the rooftop battle. He went straight to g4 against Kaido's fodder form and got his haki depleted but turn around and fight his hybrid in base. He honestly would have fare much better if he had started off with base, g2 and g3 and cap it off with g4.

Overall, I will give him a B- and that's me being generous.

Outperformed in what way?
Zoro for the majority of the fight didn't go off and fight Kaido directly. He either waited for the right time to strike or when he had Killer's help in doing so.
The one time he actually engaged Kaido with Asura on his own, we all saw what happened. He got taken out immediately. His attack proved to be insufficient to even slow him down enough to prevent him from attacking.

Don't put Luffy in the same place as Zoro. If Luffy sat back and waited for others to do the attacking the same would be true for Luffy.
Atleast Luffy put up an actual fight for a decent amount of time.

As for whether or not Kaido dies. It's up to Oda but at the same time how often have we seen Oda actually kill off characters? By that I mean important characters.

Arc ends-> News goes out across the world
Page 1 headlines Luffy topples Yonko, bounty raised to 5 billion!
Page 6 article, Zoro kills Kaido?

What world do people think this is happening? This is Luffy's big W, and nothing is overshadowing his ascent, executing someone would be a bigger news story, even if it isn't really a feat.

Oda loves to leave villains alive so they can wallow in defeat and copium as they see Luffy rise to become PK, Luffy takes down Kaido it undoes 20 years that Kaido has worked to rise to this point, it's not as simple as just returning to Wano when Luffy leaves, at that point his dream of becoming PK will be crushed and Luffy will be racing to Raftel with most of the Poneglyphs in hand and a superior personal battle strength and fleet to Kaido.

I think Kaido probably wished to have a male heir. Perhaps he might have thought that a male heir could have been stronger according to his principles.
I dont think so kaido obsess being male or female. I didn't see any panel about it. Plus, he meet with big mom who is one of most stronger character in OP. Also, apparently, bigmom helped kaido . Why would he think like that
