If the fight between Roger and Whitebeard does happen in the next chapter who are you going to root For? This fight is in particular is interesting because for the first time it really doesn't matter who wins. Neither are going to die, at most it's a fight over who gets to sail with Oden. But Roger or Whitebeard is the good or bad guy in this fight, they want different things from their adventures, Roger wants freedom and to enjoy his time left, and Whitebeard wants a family.
So with no real stakes, it doesn't matter who actually wins.
So who do you want to win Roger or Whitebeard?

Roger just doesn't seem interesting as a character to me at all, no matter how many story elements Oda dedicates for him.. to me, he's just the "generic" pirate stereotype in One Piece..

But Whitebeard on the other hand... everything about him is legendary.. his appearance is legendary.. his personality is legendary... even his moustache he calls a beard is legendary.
