Where is the same objective / same field that they are competing about ?
•Zoro a swordman while sanji a martial artist

• Zoro wants strength , Sanji wants women
• Zoro wants the WSS , Sanji wants women and all blue

• Zoro wants his name to reach the heavens , Sanji wants to cook for ppl .

So they have the same field isn't it ?
At least show me a factual statement or a canon source that said they are rivals

Zoro and Sanji want to be better than the other, so like the definition you posted, it's a type of rivalry.

There's a difference between a flaming rivalry and a rather gag-like one however.

Zoro and Sanji are not flaming rivals right now most likely, for the simple reason that Zoro is likely aware of his massive superiority and also because his energies are focused on Mihawk right now, he is his true objective and the man his aim is pointing towards.

Sanji and Zoro compete to be better than each other so by definition a type of rivalry.

Luffy and Zoro's goals involve fighting... Sanji's doesnt.

Sanji's never been close to Zoro post time skip in strength and power. That's just plain and simple.

Why did Sanji get caught by Black Maria?
Why does Sanji throw his pride away to wear the Raidsuit?
Why did Oda give Sanji the Raidsuit?

At least Zoro is loyal and doesnt kick his own captain in the face
At least Zoro is loyal and doesnt abandon his crew

Zoro can deal with his own issues without captain having to bail him out

Yeah, they have a friendly rivalry.

No, it's nothing serious like Zoro/Kuina or Roger/WB. But more akin to bicker rivalry such as Lucci/Jyabura. Serious rivalry includes a very deep portrayal as well as a huge part of character centered around it. The rivalry is far from a defining aspect for either of them.

And yeah, none of that implies equality in power. In fact, not even serious, power based rivalries imply equality 9/10 times. See: almost every rivalry in shonen

If Oda wanted to show sheer equality, he'd not have Sanji left out of WG, left out of rooftop. He'd have Zoro and Sanji share Luffy's pain instead. He'd not have drawn many, many, many more parallels between Zoro/Luffy than Sanji/Luffy. He'd not have had Zoro written as VC and second strongest in Vivre Card. He'd not make characters refer to him as such over and over again. He'd not make other characters be parallel of Luffy/Zoro only (Smoker/Tashigi, Coby/Helmeppo, Croc/Mr.1, etc) and much, much more.

But, of course, Sanji has parallels with Zoro (and very, very minimal with Luffy), because they are ultimately Luffy's two pillars and his right and left hand men.

Regardless, thread has been made thousand of times. No point making another.
