Besides the competition, a lot of other factors influence salaries in India. An average Indian Engineer, for example, is usually less skilled than his counterpart from the West. I don't think caste plays a direct role in preventing the weaker sections from working in high profile jobs, though it's certainly is easier to get into one if you belong to an upper caste.

It's actually pretty opposite . We have reservation for backward (economical and cast) ,
I had 75% but didn't got admission in my preferred college
But my friend from reserved cast got admission , he had 69 %
And funny thing is that our both parents were government employee...
But I was from general class and he was from reserved class..Things are pretty complex here..

And any person from any cast can work anywhere , there is no such restrictions..We have democracy..

The problem is old reservation system based on cast, we need reservation based on economic status..

Yup, Reservations should be based on economic status, though I don't think we can get rid of caste-based reservations as long as the caste system and caste-based discrimination exist(yeah it's still in practice). So the thing that should be eradicated first and foremost is the caste system itself.

People from all casts who are economically weak will get benefit...Nothing to lose

That doesn't tackle the core of the issue though; In the first place, caste-based reservation is introduced as a means of protection against caste-based discrimination. We cannot and should not remove the shield that protects the unprivileged as long as this devil called discrimination isn't uprooted from society. Our reservation system is far from being perfect; there are ups and downs to it just like any other system but it is necessary given how things work in India. Abolishing the caste system is the only practical method to kill caste-based discrimination.

While i think/know religion caused/cause many harms(oppression of other religion groups),divisions,sufferings(exceution,purges,perseuction), corruption(example catholic leadership thouht past ((midlle age)) ,fuel nationalistic tensions ,giving way to people to commit crimes in name of almighty one, waging wars in name of religion but it also unite people,make them belive,make them clean if yiu know what i meant ,i belive in god and im christian ordohtox

Very nice i belive you gonna be good ,best thing i wish for kids is to graduate some good degrees ,schools ,have easier life/better jobs etc

This really makes people hate capitalism but I think it's one of the best systems we can have and it usually gets me lots of weird looks when I say it. My reasons are more complicated than that but still.

Where I live, minimum wage gets you 24k a year, 18k after taxes for 40 hours a week. Never missing a day. If you're lucky, you can get an apartment for 17k a year, leaving you with about $85 a month to use for yourself. Capitalism is made to keep you poor by design and schools are for teaching you to be an employee.

I never went to college and I'm cracking the 50k a year bracket with room to grow. Doing better than lots of my family members with degrees. It's all about money management and resources like you said.

Yes, Some of them do. It is mostly due to benefits like reservations, though it's nothing compared to the shit they go through via discrimination. As far as I know, Reservations are the only major benefits the lower-class men get for being in a low-caste. They're discriminated against almost everywhere else. Say, for example, Upper-class men normally don't allow their kids to marry those from the lower caste even if they're economically well off. You're prone to get rejected when you apply for a private job if you belong to a low-caste. This doesn't happen a lot but still happens. The majority of our population is from the backward classes, but the number of low-caste people holding high-ranking positions or well-off jobs in any given organization is surprisingly low. It's almost non-existing. The same goes for politicians.

It is mostly the upper-classmen who want to keep the caste system though.
