That's not what I think. 99% of your argument has to do with a portrayal not shown before Zoro went to the roof.

Like @playa4321 said, King still has the opportunity for good portrayal of he fights Zoro. Oda is notorious for writing powerful characters in a way that makes them look bad to not supercede the plot armor in a story.

The thing is. King is beyond repairable if he doesn't kill King.

Taking out trash characters like Izo or others won't elevate him. The last saving grace is killing Marco or Kaido revealing King to be his "Ace" fulfilling the theme of the cards.

But I still don't care anymore. I was behind Zoro vs King before the roof. Now I only see Kaido.

In no way to defeating King harm Zoro’s reputation because hes already done much more. King is an added bonus.

For example that Apoo neg diff didn’t smudge Zoro’s character

That doesn't make Zoro the pheasant lol, one could argue he has connections with the Pheasant (Kozuki) but that's not him. Meanwhile Marco pretty much ticks all the boxes for being the Pheasant here.

Marco doesn't tick all boxes. Kaido is looking for a samurai. Luffy stated chapters ago that one can only be a samurai if they use a sword. Luffy neither marco uses blades.

The actually samurai kozukis symbol is the pheasant. Is the only one with a blade meant to kill kaido. It's as clear as day lol

When Oda first introduced the topic of haki, he said that Luffy was a CoC specialist, Zoro CoA, and Sanji CoO specialist. In WCI we learned about FS and I was ecstatic thinking that it would be something that Sanji would learn. Instead Luffy unlocked it first and I got worried that all of the haki power ups would go to him.

Uh, there's a massive difference between obviously knowing Luffy is the monkey due to his name vs having to jump through 20 hoops to determine Zoro is a "pheasant" due to inheriting a sword that isn't even Kozuki made.

Just like Yamato being the dog, she is a guardian deity wolf, not exactly a dog. There's no reason to believe that Human Luffy isn't the monkey due to his name and Phoenix Marco isn't the bird due to being literally the only bird on the island.

Nobody, not even Zoro fans, are sitting here thinking that deep about a bird symbolism for Zoro lol.
