Only recently I hopped off because Leth convinced me
And I agree Oda could do more justice for King, like build up his character more and give him more screentime.

If you think about it, there was no reason for Izo to even get a bounty, let alone 500M which is around Don Chinjao level.

That's not what I think. 99% of your argument has to do with a portrayal not shown before Zoro went to the roof.
Like @playa4321 said, King still has the opportunity for good portrayal of he fights Zoro. Oda is notorious for writing powerful characters in a way that makes them look bad to not supercede the plot armor in a story.
