I don't say that nobody dies in One Piece. Ace died, WB died. But now the message of killing Kaido is not something Oda would do, in my opinion.

All those panels are "fake death". Orochi is still alive.

I repeat, I am not saying that One Piece did not already show something dark like that but the thing is that the message will not be "Let's kill Kaido, he want to die anyway" but it's "Kaido want to die, Luffy will make him understand the beauty of living while he punch him to the ground of course".

That's until we find out the reason he has these fire based powers is because he comes from a "Dragon Race."

You got the Fishman Race who can manipulate Water, that comes from the Bottom of the Sea.

The Mink Race who can manipulate electricity, and comes from land.

An "Unknown Race" that comes from the sky and can manipulate fire.

Two of those Races aren't Humans, and there is no reason to believe the Fire Race from the Sky is, either.
