But do you really think Oda would give a villain what they desire?
Technically, he's not by Luffy stopping him from taking over Wano and creating a world of chaos.

However Kaido wanting to die is pretty sad and arguably pretty different from your typical villain. It's far more personal and messed up. I think in the end the story will close that concept about his character because thats what Kaido wants. Its why he also just let's people attack him.

And then he goes and says it's "not enough". His speech to the Scabbards after they cut him is a big tell about this. "I could have let you kill me, but you are not Oden"

Yes Kaido will finally get convinced by Luffy talk no justu and join the huge banquets with everyone after all this is over maybe even become Wano new protector instead
Nice strawman argument.

The actual argument:
  1. That Kaido, upon losing to someone 30 years younger than him, with an incredible growth rate 1vs1, realizes he is still a silver medalist and not the one to actually become pirate king, crushing his will and preventing him from reaching the summit of the world.
  2. That it took TWENTY YEARS to get where he is in terms of weaponry and resources extracted from Wano, that had a co-operative evil shogun, and that he will not have time to rebuild after his factories have been destroyed, Wano's borders opened and Wano being put under the banner of someone stronger than him
  3. That Kaido's previous losses were either before he entered Wano or not so thorough as to rout his entire crew from fodder all the way to every last executive, and that to overcome this in time before Luffy becomes Pirate King in 2 months One Piece world time is impossible.
Try to debate that rather than imagined nonsense you think we are arguing for.

Welcome to the House of Hope
KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINDA looking forward to what CP0 is gonna do by the end of this raid.
Nico Robin is there, Vegapunk's artificial fruit was actually a success. Lots of interesting targets for them.
:bamathink:

He wants a death like Roger oden and wb
Zoro killing him would be about zoro not him.
It still doesn’t take away that it’s Kaido’s desire.. Oda has never given a villain what they want and that should apply to Kaido. Him being locked down and living with the pain of losing everything he built up for the last 20 years is the greatest punishment Oda could give to him.
