Luffy looking like an equal to Kaido. This fight should be good. Tho not a big fan with convenient power ups for the MC.

Orochi is the x factor, what will he f*ck up?

Zoro and Sanji shot was cool, lets get more focus there.

The Road To Harmony
This was a mixed chapter, for me.

Starting with the things I liked, Luffy's somewhat mentor role of Momo has reached its climax. Luffy's always wanted Momo to be someone who deserved the birthright he was promised. That meant speaking for himself, standing up against anyone, and being of actually use to the cause. He's now accomplished all of these, or will in the third case. Luffy's and Momo's relationship has essentially been an extended version of Luffy's dynamic with Coby way back in the beginning, and we see how Luffy's influence provided them the motivation and self confidence to realize their potentials.

Speaking of potentials, Luffy and Kaido splitting the heaven is a milestone moment, along the lines of Luffy punching the Sea Monster after perfecting his fruit, defeating a Warlord, and unlocking haki. Luffy is now a Great Pirate, along the lines of Linlin, Kaido, and his idol Shanks. He is no longer a rookie. No longer the underdog. He is now a king among kings. All that's left is standing above them.

Now for what I didn't care for, this chapter was suppose to spell the tables turning on the villains via the moon return and Luffy's rebound, but it doesn't feel like that. It's never felt like the Alliance were in any true peril at any point since the battle started, especially the last few chapters. It dampers the "fist bump" this chapter was likely meant to elicit. Perhaps Inu and Neko struggling more beforehand would've helped.

Perospero's role on Onigashima was a total waste of time. If all he existed for was to give Neko a fight, I'm disappointed. Avenging Pedro via Peros' defeat was always a weak premise, to me, because Peros just happened to be in the vicinity of Pedro sacrificing himself willingly. Pedro's sacrifice was to help the others escape for the larger cause, so his death wasn't in vain. And Peros wasn't presented as a big enough threat on the island to warrant his inclusion. Jack was at least a loose end that needed to be dealt with, but Peros could've easily been left out of the war with the rest of the Big Mom Pirates, and nothing would've been lost. All that time should've went to developing better, more important plot points.

Zoro Worshipper
This was a meaningless chapter imo ; Kaido transforming into dragon only for momo to bite him from behind one time and then getting out of fight seems cheap and not earned ; momo should have done more against kaido and use more techniques

--Dragon kaido getting thrashed for 100th time we know :seriously:

--Momo holding onigashima is very obvious :few:

--We already have luffy -- Kaido COC clash so this seems repetative to me ; oda could have shown sky splliting in earlier clash with kaido :kayneshrug:

-- Jack got off screened :tchpepe:

--Finally I am tired of seeing kaido using basic club swings for a while now ; come on now oda have kaido use more named attacks aside from divine thunder and more ranged attacks like hakai or ikokku or something new :pepeke:
Dragon vs Dragon

And this shall likely soon turn into Dragon vs Hydra, but the Dragon will act like the Knight and slay the monster

Mediocre chapter. Lots of good for me at least. But lots I don't like at all.

Highlights:

I also found Peros and Jack being same tier strange.
Jacks handling was wtvr.
Perospero left the Meme pirates for no reason...
He got defeated within 2 hours :josad:

is there anybody that refresh Kaido got beaten by current Luffy ?

Because zoro is a fighter mainly

he doesn't need to affect the plot outside of fights that much

It's kind of the point, sometimes he affects the plot but obviously he won't affect the plot that much, so it's not surprising he doesn't affect the plot outside fights

Think about it this way

luffy is 50% a powerful fighter, 50% an impactful character

Sanji is 40% a powerful fighter, 60% an impactful character

Zoro is 60% a powerful fighter, 40% an impactful character

It's not that complicated, lol
Oda could have just turned him into one of Franky's weapon instead, if his purpose is to clean up fodders, do some damage to Kaido that didn't mean a thing, and be Luffy's helper "temporarily" and beat 2nd strongest. After that he just can get lost out of the plot.

MY PREDICTION FOR NEXT CHAPTER

Since this chapter was: Emperor fight (Luffy-Momo-Yamato vs Kaido) + 2 battles connected to it (Inu vs Jack, Neko vs Perospero, connected because of the moon)
I think next chapter gonna be: Emperor fight (Kidd-Law vs Linlin) + 1 battle at least connected to it (Killer vs Hawkins, connected because of Kidd's doll)

Since the 2 side battles of these chapter had a common theme (Dukes taking a revenge), I guess a 2nd battle could be included with Killer vs Hawkins (following a theme) and that battle can either be:
- Drake vs Apoo ---> SN vs SN & SN vs SN
- Raizo vs Fukurukuju ---> In both cases the characters involved took different decisions/paths when Kaido appeared

Well said.

The main problem with this whole raid has been the total lack of any kind of "threat" right from the start.

It never even once felt like any of our heroes was in danger.

Yeah, part of it was due to OP being so freaking long already and Oda never actually writing consequences, ok, but despite all that he could've still wrote it in a way more dramatic way.

Take Enies Lobby for example. Back then we already knew Oda wouldn't kill anyone off or something like that (due to AP, Alabasta and Skypiea), but it was still absolutely thrilling.

This raid has had a "happy-go-lucky feeling" over it all along.

Heck, Luffy returning with Momo symbolizes it. He actually still goofs and smiles around, acting like a Pokemon trainer ("C'mon Momo, use your own fire-breath to counter his!" "Whaaat?!").

Compare that to his completely focused and dead serious attitude in his final encounters with Crocodile, Lucci etc.

Perospero and Jack also felt completely redundant. Why were they written in here? Oda built them up for a while, then ignored them for 100+ chapters and now has them unceremoniously off-paneled in one single chapter. Dafuq?

I really fear where this is going. The only noteworthy enemies still standing are Kaido, BM, Hawkins, Fukurujo, King and Queen. The rest (Ulti, Page One, Black Maria, Who's Who, Sakasaki, Perospero, Jack) have been dealt with already and yet there is still not an ounce of drama/threat in sight.

Man, it hurts me to say it but this arc has been absolutely terrible. Momonosuke biting Kaido is peak trash writing.

Oda has made the BM and the Beast pirates such a joke crews.
What did you want him to do? Shoot Boro Breath? Revert back to Human form and start slashing kaido up? Biting Kaido and standing up for himself is the most he can do. Read one piece carefully next time or just drop it and go read something else.

Blunt attacks don't leave scratch marks like slashes did Lmao:gokulaugh:
Even Kaido's attacks didn't even leave a mark against Luffy only slight bruises

Lmao it wouldn't because Law saved him and he only blocked it for one second(time needed for Law to deploy his "Room" ability)
It doesn't matter if he did it for a second or an hour. He stopped the impact which was the most important part that also left him half dead.

Kidd: Thanks, even if you "blocked it" for a second.
Law: That last attack "he took" could have shattered every bone in his body.

Stop coping.
