With regards to the next Nakama, the most obvious choice for the 10th & final crew mate is Yamato but her being the most obvious choice doesn’t necessarily mean she’d end up joining. Moreover the fact that she’s so obvious even to the point that it feels forced should really be really be raising a few eyebrows considering Oda goes out of his way to mislead his readers and chooses the less obvious choice more often than not. Most recent example of this was errone & their gradmum thinking Yamato was gonna be the Byakko 
Looking past the smokes & mirrors, here are some strong reasons why it doesn’t make sense for Yamato to join:
1. The devil fruit pattern theory
Chopper = 1,10 (Hito Hito no Mi ✅)
Brook = 4,3 (Yomi Yomi no Mi ✅)
Luffy = 5,6 (Gomu Gomu no Mi )
Robin = 8,7 (Hana Hana no Mi ✅)
Yamato = 2,9/9,2 (Oguchi no Makami❌)
Oda was asked about this in SBS but declined to comment on it which is super sus.
Moreover if you add up all the numbers in the devil fruit pattern like so:
110 + 43 + 56 + 87 + 29
You get ‘325’ which is San-Ni-Go -> Sa-Ni-Go/Sunny Go).
This makes way too much sense for it to be a mere coincidence hence why a lot of the OP fanbase particularly the JP OP fanbase consider this a major factor with regards to deciding the next nakama.
By the way currently known DFs that fit the 2,9 pattern are; Nikyuu Nikyuu (Kuma), Fuku Fuku (Kin’emon), Kibi Kibi (Otama). Some people say Juku Juku (Shinobu) but it feels forced to me personally 🤷🏾♂️.
Also considering Tama’s df no is 9,2 (92) which doesn’t help add up to 325. I’d say it’s unlikely that she’s is 10th one.
2. Role/Importance to the crew
She has no clear role on the ship. All of the SHs save Robin were recruited with a specific role in mind.
Luffy needed manpower -> Zoro (Combatant)
Luffy needed a Navigator -> Nami (Navigator)
Luffy wanted a Ship which resulted in the need for a Sniper -> Usopp (Sniper)
Luffy needed a Cook -> Sanji (Cook)
Luffy needed a Doctor -> Chopper (Doctor)
Luffy needed a new ship and with it came the need for a proper Shipwright -> Franky (Shipwright)
Luffy needed a musician -> Brook (Musician)
Luffy wanted a Jinbe 😂
The only exception is Robin, who stowed away on the ship & became a crew member rather agressively & even though the SHs didn’t know it at the time they needed Robin as she’s the sole person in the verse that can read the poneglyph.
It is also important to note that all of the characters above demonstrated that very unique skill which can be tied to their current roles on the ship in thier introduction arcs.

Law might join the grand fleet or better said he basically is a member already.
Kid will realize that he is no match for Luffy and will have to join the strawhat grand fleet as well. He isn’t even on the same level sanji right now.
And there is no need for yonkous after Luffy defeats them. He is gonna be the PK and nobody will be able to match the strawhats.

I think Law and Kid would surely prefer to die before being called strawhats 
But Kidd is an entirely differently pair of sleeves.

this has been discussed before, but let me mention it again: it is irrational for Oden, a Poneglyph writer and reader, wrote anything about One Piece, Laugh Tale, Void Century, etc. in a journal (which is scrap pieces of paper), with normal language. I suggest normal language since everybody can read it and at the front of the journal is clearly written in Japanese kanji & hiragana.

It’s just that Yamato said that the journal has “very important information.” Oden put One Piece info in a journal, which can be destroyed easily, sounds ridiculous. Also if Oden did, which I doubt he did, it would’ve destroyed the purpose of the entire Poneglyph steles, especially Road Poneglyph, and would’ve destroyed Robin’s purpose as the sole Poneglyph reader. Also if that were true, means that now Momonosuke could have also known One Piece location.
