Them having awakening makes a lot more sense, considering they were in the New World longer than Luffy. If their Haki isn't crazy, it makes sense for this to be their route.

This also gives them something Luffy doesn't yet have access to.

I wonder how do they actually activate their true power like that.
There has to be some kind of training where they did before or whatever in order to awaken their power, or its just randomly popped out

No since Yc1 are also awakened devil fruit users. To top it all of they more than likely have even better control than kidd and law since this is their final trump card. Keep in mind we still dont have confirmation whether bigmom is using her awakening with her fruit. Plus to add she is still clean in terms of being damaged and finally she has been using advanced coc attacks on kidd neither law lol and they already on their last leg
