I remember at the time of that chapter launching, that the proper translation to the term "cyborg" was actually "altered human".
It's just a translation issue, more likely than not.

Law's probably not going to die. I don't think it makes much sense for it to happen when Luffy isn't around and if Oda doesn't even have the balls to kill kinemon, I have absolutely zero faith that he would kill Law. Law's awakening will probably seriously injure big mom, but take him out of the fight. With Marco and Chopper around, I doubt it would kill him tho.

Also, was it confirmed that Kid's awakening is also a last resort technique? Because Im feeling like that was only true for Law's, as we already know that Law's fruit has a big drawback, whereas Kid's was never said to have such a drawback. Kid's awakening also just isn't as overpowered.

Modified humans is more accurate. It's DNA modifications not steel augmentations. And the RS is not metal, it's Memory Fabric.

Imagine the story of One Piece is being told at the end, when Brook and Kid are sitting in some random bar and have just met again after 100 years or so and are sharing their stories about Luffy.

Marineford was just storytelling excellence.
But in terms of clashes and fights it was pretty poor even some of the military strategies didn't make much sense, you may not like Wano's storytelling but in terms of actual fighting this is on a whole other tier than Marineford.

Yeah it sounds like Law is the one going for the finisher, while Kid can control it better
