You know there might be a certain reason (*cough* possible Komurasaki twist *cough*) why Toki hasn't played a prominent part so far.
Maybe it will also come next chapter...
If toki and hiyori jumped that would still make hiyori a kid and toki a whore for shacking up with zoro after she just lost oden !

Jokes aside kawamatsu wouldnt keep that secret.

I didn't like oden role in this chapter , even if kaido& orochi
threaten oden to kill wano people, i'm not convinced by this cuz they already killing and tutoring wano people even before oden return .

But after i saw this , i think there's a reason bigger than wano people lives & more important than trying to kill oden's children and wife .

in both 968(viz T ) & 969 , same panel with same text

" Stop, Oden if you get angry over something TRIVIAL like this , THE ENEMY WILL ONLY ....."

maybe i'm thinking too much , but how this is something trivial toki ?! is yours & children life trivial ?!
you can say she wants oden to avoid the worse , but still i think there a secret here and another meaning ?!
as if she warn oden if he go against them that will result in some bad more bad than wano people suffering ؟!
resulting a delay/ making it harder for the next joyboy ?! or maybe resulting in kaido ruling wano for a long time that shouldn't happen if oden wait for the right time to attack ?!

conspiring that Toki from 800 years ago and we dont get anything from her yet except her being born 800 years ago
also she insist on oedn to continue his journey with roger as if she know something !?

Using Zoro/Kinemon as a reference point. Height wise Kyoshiro is similar to Kinemon's height as they both tower over Zoro.

\

Been my gut feeling all along that he's Denjiro still hoping im right haha

Good chapter. Wondering what the boat thing was and what Shinobu heard. Gonna be on Oda to make Oden reactions and actions in this chapter acceptable. I trust he will, but I also trust the OP fanbase to complain about it lmao

Hmmm, not a lot happened in this chapter but that's okay. So after reading the chapter I think I kinda get it. Oden after meeting with Orochi and then proceeds to act the way he did to the townsfolk was completely his choice. Before when I was reading the spoilers, at first I thought it was the evil old witch imitating oden with her mane mane devil fruit, OR it was a someone from kaido's who had a controlling devil fruit (something like doffy's string string fruit). It was only after oden's conversation with Orochi, did Oden start to act the way he did. He could have done this for 2 reasons: something bad happened in the meeting, 1.) either Oden was blackmailed 2.) Oden was put under the controlling spell of another devil fruit user OR 3.) Oden knows his chances are slim, so he takes a page out of orochi's book and decides to act like a harmless fool, while biding his time and strength to act. Of course this failed, as Orochi didn't keep his end of the deal. In the last page we see Oden reduced to tears after asking: "what about the boat, what about Kaido?" Orochi answers: eh, what about it?' This here tells me that Oden tried to convince Orochi to help him take down kaido, maybe even use him as a inside agent, Orochi probably lied to Oden and agreed, but then never kept his word. In the last page, we see Orochi made a promise to help Oden get boats, but Orochi never delivered and betrayed Oden. I assume Oden was gonna use the boats to launch a surprise attack on kaido, since kaido actually resides on onigashima, a sole island, and not on the main island of Wano itself.

Lol and we see momonosuke and kinemom try to pull the same stunt now 20 years later.

Ugh, not sure why Oden trusted Orochi to give him a boat or do anything decent for that matter. Maybe Oden humiliated himself hoping Orochi would turnover a new leaf and give back the kingdom? Did he do it just to protect his people? Either way he should have seen that double cross coming a mile away.

The end of the chapter was great. The showdown with Kaido is next I guess. Hope it's a good one.

Sorry if this was previously covered in this thread or elsewhere, but if two Wano citizens have the Mane Mane AND Bari Bari no Mi, how did Bentham and Bartolomeo get them? Stands to reason that when the Kurozumi users died, the Devil Fruits must have not traveled that far before infecting other wild fruits, and the country is isolationist/on top of a waterfall that’s home to gigantic carp...unless Orochi and Kaido’s weapons manufacturing becomes so terrible and disruptive to the environment that the “spirits” of the fruits actually did leave Wano and settle in other islands/countries those two might have visited.

idk, I think spoyler is not worth it anymore,
all the hype used to be release by everyone at friday. Jaiminisbox effectively split the fanbase apart, now the excitement is half.
thanks for killing the community.

until we have team that has direct japanese -> english scan on friday (for god sake there are french, korean, and portuguese, but no english lol) Ill be sticking to the official scans.

Orochi is a way better villain than Kaido
Let's be honest
He is up there with the like of croco and doffy for sure
Oden or Toki? Which character is a bigger letdown?
zoro

Prepare to witness Oden’s greatness next week. Oda is setting up some damn high bar for his battle against Orochi and Kaido.
“Oden who knew no enemy of his Caliber”- Echiiro Oda
“I’ll make this Kaido pay”- Kozuki Oden
Too sad we all know how this ended but I believe we will all be left as angered as the Red Scabbards upon seeing his fall. Also, it’s such a Badass name “The Nine Red Scabbards” now that we know how they got it.
Finally the poison arrow...:lusalty:

Queen the battle ruiner..???

I was wondering why Oda specifically had Oden humiliate himself for 5 years after returning to Wano and suspected that maybe it was Oda's way of punishing Oden for abandoning Wano for his dreams all those years ago, so I went back and counted how many years Oden was away from Wano and voila! Oden was away from Wano for approximately 5 years. A few chapters ago I questioned whether Oden actually deserved the title of Shogun after abandoning wano not only once but twice and to make things worse, on the second time, he suspected that something was gravely wrong on Wano but he ignored it, so to have an Oden who did that suddenly comeback to Wano & then immediately be herald as an hero of the people as a result of their desperation is bit too good a deal, so I'm thinking Oda had to first have Oden taste a bit of the suffering and humiliation the Wano folk experienced for 5 years before having him go against Kaidou.

Now with regards to Oden giving in to Orochi, after reading the chapter, like I speculated in the spoiler thread, I'm now more inclined to believe that Oden was threatened with the life of the wano citizens so he had to contain his anger, bid his time and wait for a better opportunity. The reason being that in this chapter right after cutting away from Oden and Orochi, the narrator said that two of the townsfolk were shot down by poisonous arrows and collapsed after violently vomiting blood, which is a bit too consistent with Oden being threatened with the lives of the townsfolk (I think those two arrows were warning shots to Oden). Plus why poisonous arrow and not just regular arrows? If Oden acted foolishly, he could have been threatened with the complete massacre of the capital. Oden is strong, but there's only so much one man could have done under such circumstances.

Also with regards to the Ship & Kaidou which Orochi promised Oden but didn't deliver on, in the spoiler thread I speculated that maybe Oden intended to use the ship to temporarily leave wano to gather allies and come back to take wano or to send his family away from wano to save them from the aftermath of him rebelling against kaidou and that the the kaidou bit was Oden demanding an audience with Kaidou so as to be able to kill him without having to endanger the lives of thousands of innocent people but after reading the chapter, I'm thinking that maybe Oden wasn't really that hell bent on any of those promises. I mean it'd have been awesome if he got those things but Oden has experienced the scumminess of orochi first hand and knows he's trash so it doesn't make sense for those things to have been what made Oden act the fool for 5 years. If anything Orochi defaulting on that promise just proved to Oden that Orochi is scum and will remain scum long as he lives. So maybe, the 5 year tomfoolery by Oden was a sort of self inflicted punishment to himself for abandoning wano?

On Shinobu, I still don't think she's the traitor. The fact the she's the only one that knows about what went down between Oden & Orochi that day I think hints that she will be the one that tells us readers whatever went down between Oden & Orochi.

On Moria, do y'all think he was really Kaidou's equal/rival at the time or do you think it was simply just bravado with him biting off way more than he could chew? I mean his whole crew was decimated as a result of that encounter with Kaidou and Kaidou doesn't seem to have lost any significant forces from it, as we see both King & Queen in the background along with Kaidou. Also I think the vivre card on Jack is legit considering he didn't seem to be with Kaidou during that battle.

All in all, a really enjoyable chapter ^^. Not sure Oda would deliver on the Oden v Kaidou fight just yet but regardless, even if he doesn't we prolly return to the current time line which is still pretty beast with the raid on Onigashima finally starting.

Aren't people dying nearly everyday while Oden is supposedly punishing himself? Kinda makes it worse if he was doing all of this by choice. For one Hyogoro's wife wouldn't be dead.

And of course should Oden's death itself be punishment for his leaving Wano as you say Oda is doing? Also, isn't leaving Wano actually a good thing?

Like lets look at this for a second. Wano has an antiquated law of closed borders and Oden breaking that law hasn't been presented as a bad thing necessarily. So the first time he left Wano wasnt that bad.

Then the second time he left, he was willfully ignorant of course and thats always a bad thing. But then how should this will full ignorance be pushed suitably? Well First you have to cure said ignorance and Oden was told of Fodderochi's schemes and brought up to speed. After that then we should either have rehabilitative punishment to try and fix the wrongs or have retributional punishment that weighs justice with pain. Oda here of course chooses the latter since Oden dancing around like a fool does literally nothing to try and write his wrongs. For five years this random meaningless task has no point other than retribution and that's it. Now Oden is just filled with indignation for his fellow man in then most random of ways I feel and has just decides to merch of to his death to actually try and address the mess he made. Which you might call rehabilitative punishment in some way but then Oden JUST DIES. And most of the suffering he caused just gets transfered to his children and retainers.

So in the end Oden doesn't actually pay for anything specifically if this is what Oda wants to put across since his penance is purely retributional and seemingly doesn't do anything to rehabilitate him or his actions and then he dies transferring his duties to much weaker people than him.

If Oda wants to make a point about punishment here then it's a general Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh for me

What a fantastic chapter!!
Those two Kurozumi grandpa's have stirred up Orochi's ambitious and vile mind fantastically well...Orochi is evil, scheming and compelling villian..
May be Orochi has threatened Oden that they will kill Wano's residents or may be Orochi still has sukiyaki jailed somewhere?
Oden's transformation from careless free guy to a responsible man will be great to see when it happens...
The way Oda humiliated Oden was surprising but I'm expecting incredible pay off for why Oden acted that way and now I know why SHs cried, laughed, fascinated when they heard his story....
Oden's reaction when he heard about the death of wife of Hyo and his samurai was emotional..He couldn't hold up his emotions anymore...
May be Kaido and Orochi were waiting for this exact moment to execute their plan to eliminate the kozuki family as they knew Oden would some day become engulfed with the anger....
Excited to see the final parts of the flashback and I'm also interested on why the Kurozumi grandma advised Orochi to open up weapon factories in Wano....Is someone from WG behind all these actions....I'm really excited

I wonder what the new marines on the cover page are. They seem pretty comfortable to challenge a 350 million pirate who just caused a ruckus in Big Mom's territories. I would say they are mid-vice-admiral level. Still they seem more like CP0 than Marines to me. :believe:
