Swords were literally told to have the souls of their previous wielders in the arc and we were told that Enma would drag out a user's Haki as and when it desires and is tough to control.

Enma reacting to Hiyori play the song which Oden asked her to play at his funeral is completely in line with the story. But yeah, blame you not reading the arc properly on Oda.
