Are people assuming that just because the Strawhats are young and inexperienced and lack knowledge of the world that other Emperor crews are the same? Linlin clearly knows about King and his race and so does Newgate. Whatever King's gimmick is, there is a mechanism to it otherwise Zoro wouldn't speak in that manner. Other YC especially someone intelligent like Katakuri whose mother is a race collector would 100% know whats up with King. To assume he can't damage him is disingenuous as well because by that same assertion anyone stanning Kata can claim that King won't even touch Katakuri since King lacks Future Sight.

We know Zoro's COO is subpar at best so using someone like Zoro as a gauge for how fast a character is is not particularly accurate.

King doesn't surpass Kaido in durability, he is just fighting Zoro 1vs1 and properly guarding rather than fighting 5vs1 taking potshots and not bothering to block or use CoA.

You do know that Zoro's attacks are stronger than Kaido's by a significant margin? And they are not working on King.
At this point one has to wonder if Kaido can even convincingly beat King or he has to play the long game and just outlast him...
