well, we know Oda is very inconsistent... its actually great if he's not forget these brokers and i do really hope that, but so far they havent shown their relevance to the story, and Oda hasnt shown anything that can lead them to the story. so i'm kinda afraid lmao

I really don't think Oda would allow Luffy and Shanks to meet in a non-canon movie. So either Shanks is the main character and straw hats play a minor role at best or Shanks is just connected to the villain or something and get some cameo.

Ok. So the only way I can see this work–assuming that they are not going to have Shanks meet Luffy in a fu*king movie–is by having ether: a character that is connected to Shanks, or Luffy and Shanks will meet before the movie comes out. I can see Oda introducing Shanks' "sister(ish)" character that is strong and young, possibly even a crew member that lives Shanks' crew or betrays Shanks so Shanks has to punish her, but then Luffy gets involved and Shanks leaves it on Luffy and appears in the background as a fanservice motirial for average fans. I'm 100% sure that they're using Shanks as a marketing tool for this movie and he will not play any significant role in the plot outside of "one-ponel" appearance, which is "very Oda like" and the way they use "popular" characters in the story. Just like with stampede, and any one piece movie before that, I have no interest in it and I'm sure it's going to be shit. But the average one piece fans will like it, and there will be thousands of videos in YouTube people reacting to it making fake emotions.
