Her time under the sun will come. Bit by bit, she's making progress, as demonstrated, she could hold off Monet for a bit and force her to change tactics. Monet even noted her abilities. Meawhile, pre-timeskip, she couldn't do anything to Robin. She even impressed Zoro and Nami. Zoro for her skills that allowed her to protect everyone, and Nami admiring her strong character, even being reminded of her mother.

Punk Hazard was a great arc for highlighting Tashigi's gentle and motherly nature. Vergo even alluded the idea of her becoming a mother when mentioning the abduction of several of the children used for Caesar's experiments.
She sorta becomes one.
Though I wonder if one day, she'll commit to it?

I've a good feeling about the Wano Epilogue. Tashigi's connections to the Shimotsuki runs very deep. The fact she knows and holds a lot of reverence for the Wado Ichimonji is what also gives me those hopes. This isn't a simple (oh, I know that sword cuz I looked it up), she seems to understand the significance of the sword and chastised Zoro for wielding it.
And this wasn't because she just wanted to take a meito from him. She said nothing about taking the Sandai Kitetsu or Yubashiri, just the Wado Ichimonji.
Another thing about her is her etiquette. It's very Samurai-esque. She dutifully follows Smoker like a retainer would their lord, she despises humiliation and dishonor above all else, which is why she dislikes being spared after defeat, as that is the shame of a Samurai. From her perspective, Zoro was but a scoundrel who murders and lacks principles like a typical pirate. This would imply she was raised as such somewhere in the East Blue. And we know people from Wano migrated there. To me, that almost all but confirms her heritage is of Wano.

Gotta agree but do you believe Smoker is related to Wano in someway as well?

It's not an accident her's and Koshiro's and Kuina's weren't revealed.
I hope so too. My ideal end for them is to open and run a dojo together. However, it's also in their characters not to settle down and just continue to strive higher. All I ask for at the end, is for them to understand one another.
