I'm only stating facts. Whether Kaido became stronger or not during the last 20years so far is baseless since it's not mentioned anywhere in the manga
Everyone has a peak of strength, and when he reaches that peak of strength, he stops growing, and with age, and sickness, he can even grow weaker. We just don't know when Kaido reached his peak of strength yet
And considering Kaido is from a older generation than Shanks who was already a yonko 6years ago, it makes it debatable

Haki wise probably. But I don't see him fighting toe to toe against kaido.
That looks too much of a jump for me. But him scarring kaido is a possibility, I don't reject that idea as much as some do.

For some reason, I always picture kaido in the sky in his dragon form bore breathing the shit out of everything and then sanji sends zoro in the air with his "armee de l'air" (not sure if it's the good name for that technique) and zoro ends up cutting him up, and stopping his shit. That would be epic.

Luffy did weakened BM army what you are talking.
His YC1 and YC3 were defeated ,his plan to get the Germa was frustrated, his whole country was devastated with his own Queen destroying it, several of his children lost , the Fishman also left her etc.
