oh I believe he grew
just not as significant as people think he did .
like I said at this point he is close to 20 yrs a pirate.

kaido had to have been a yonko for 6+ years at least leaving at most 14 yrs to grow.
he is close to prime power.
[automerge]1580417706[/automerge]
ofc if people think otherwise , we should revisit previous discussions on character growth and why said cases are diffferent from this one. lol
[automerge]1580417744[/automerge]
it will be easier for people to just accept oden was just that guy lol
Shanks? No reason for you to think that, given the story.
Never said Oden wasn’t supremely strong. I object to a large sect of fanboys trying to use these spoilers, which were vastly misinterpreted to begin with, to try and say that Zoro will do to Kaido what Oden did, when Zoro is
nowhere near where Oden was then, and Kaido is
nowhere near where he was then.
It’s been 2,000+ posts of fanboyism, even when it was proven wrong by the detailed spoilers. That’s the only thing this reaction is about. It doesn’t even have to do with Oden. Just fanboyism of another character.
luffy getting beat easily by kaido creates a larger gap between the two than reality
as oda did with crocodile
turns out the gap was water. or kat
turns out the gap was better coo
or lucci g2/g3
the gap here might just be adv coa . will wait to confirm.
You missed the point of the comparison.
Well most of the warlords are weaker than yonkos, but still possess necessary power for the marines to consider them as ally powerful enough to withstand the might of the 4 emperors, but even for Moria, when the government considered he grew too weak due to laziness, they wanted to dismiss him
All of the warlords are, but that wasn’t the point. None of that is related to the point. The point is that 20 years ago, the gap between Moria and Kaido wasn’t significant. Unlike now. And they both tie into Luffy.
As for his "loss" against pre-TS Luffy, there were many plot conveniences in it, but when you actually read the manga correctly, you'd see that even that pathetic Moria(compared to his former self) was still many levels stronger than Luffy. Oars could destroy the entire crew, became even stronger when Moria started manipulating his shadow, and it took a 100shadow boosted Luffy to beat him, and Asgard Moria(with thousand shadows) was portrayed stronger than them, with ability to even split Thriller Bark in half. Only reason he ended up losing is because he became too arrogant to try to handle thousand shadows in a terrible weakened state when he already had the fight won(the sun would have erased all of them), and that Moria was levels below his prime self
1.) Here we go with the plot conveniences nonsense. Everything is a plot convenience. Stop using them as a basis for your argument.
2.)
”but when you actually read the manga correctly”
Mm.
3.) There is nothing that suggests Moria was significantly weaker than he was then. Given the track of the story, and every other example of development over time, it’s much more logical that Kaido was significantly less then than what he is now, you know, “when you actually read the manga correctly.”
