Nah nah. When everything revolves around one country too much, it gets far too convenient to believe. We already have the D clan, Seastones, Ponglyphs all from Wano. Mihawk visiting to test himself doesn’t appeal, or caring about the legends of Ryuma.
We already have Top swordmen not wanting WSS title or wanting to beat Mihawk.
We have top swordmen not seeking black blade

This alone lessens Mihawk sword skills.

Storytelling wise, WSS means nothing really when only 2 dudes have shown interest.

If he at least visited Wano, just a visit is enough.

It's not too much since Mihawk so far has nothing going for him
He is not a warlord anymore
His place might even be destroyed, then will be forced to move.
We barely see him.
He trained someone who wanted to beat him
He became a Master and he isn't an enemy anymore.
Even if they fight, Mihawk that fought Zoro at east blue isn't the same as Mihawk the master. Their battle will have feelings attached!

We are 80% done, if his name isnt even dropped in wano then what importance does Mihawk hold as the best swordman?

Unlike WSM/WSC,
It is possible to desire and be WSS by fighting or beating the previous holder or just surpass the skills.
Luffy can beat Kaido now and wont be called WSC, teach killed WB despite even saying this is his age, Alain fatally winded WB, yet nobody called Teach nor Akainu WSM.

We already have many factors making WSS title seem average.
It will be cool if it was like PK title where many swordmen desire WSS title.

Let's stop talking about how Oda treated WSS and Mihawk.

Honestly, thus far I would actually say Whole Cake Island is the better arc.

It had an interesting beginning, a dull middle, a decent climax (i.e. The Tea Party) and an utterly woeful ending.

Wano has been boring since the first bloody chapter. Endless time wasting with Leftover Town and stupid sumo tournaments, Sanji using the raid suit and having his first true fight since Thriller Bark offscreened, Yonko being used by literal children as an obese meat shield as a Scooby Doo level amnesia plot device, the utter bull of the Zoro vs Killer fight, the forced relationship between Hiyori and Zoro, Kaido going from a supposed 1v1 champion to a Spandam level bitch and the history of Wano and the Roger Pirates as shown through the experiences of the most uncharismatic and idiotic Gary Stu that I have ever seen.

Wano has done what not even Whole Cake Island could do. Utterly eviscerate any and all interest I have in the plot of my once favorite series.

Someone tag me when either an Admiral or Urouge does something cool in probably around 2030.
:ihaha::ihaha:

Damn you went in ! You aint wrong tho.

Wano still has a chance tho depending on how the Fire festival goes. But then again imagning the amount of asspulls is very scary.:doffycry:

Alright well I'm honestly not interested discussing Mihawk with you Ndule. My top 50 issues with Op don’t include Mihawk In them.

You know what?
:steef: Akainu vs Kuzan actually only fought 30 seconds in that 10 days

most of 10 days was just Akainu tand Kuzan arguing and doing casual tantrums but not really wanting to end one another

Oda will dehype that battle too.

Anything called legendary by Oda nowadays doesnt look as great as he hyped.

I bet Mihawk and Shanks threw one attack at each other which split the island and battle ends
Boom Legendary duel

The last chapters of act 1 and the first half of act 2 (until Sanji and Zoro encounter) were decent more or less. Some chapters were boring or their pace was too fast, but they were still acceptable
Anything else has been just awful.
Outside of Big Mom's capture of course. That is one of the funniest things in years :finally:

WCI was good until the Tamatebako exploded. After that :whitepress:

B-But those are SET UP CHAPTERS!
This excuse is one of my personal favourites to hear. Especially after last chapter.:milaugh:

Countless chapters of "hype" and buildup all towards making a truly breathtaking moment :suresure::suresure:

What Oda takes a hundred chapters to do, he is effortlessly outclassed by other authors who can manage far better in 10-15 or so.

No wonder in the most hyped up arc in the history of the manga, in the year following its biggest movie ever, One Piece sales are at a decade low.:gokulaugh:

I think doing this for 20+ years , has finally started to take a huge toll on Oda writing skills
He's now rushing coz he is getting worn out physically and mentally I guess.

Indeed. I remember when Punk Hazard was a set up for Wano.

Followed by Dressrosa.
Followed by Zou.
Followed by Whole Cake Island.
Followed by Reverie.
Followed by the beginning of Wano.
Followed by Udon.
Followed by the preparations for the Fire Festival.
Followed by Oden flashback.

I cannot wait for yet more set up chapters. We have only had eight feckin years of them. :goatasure:

Its fair to criticize One Piece forum are there for debating ideas of people view the story but people have lately been complaining way too much this is very unhealthy . I like to look in balanced view yes oda mess up sometime he is not God just mere mortal in the end .

However i do think flashback could have extended 2-3 chapters but it seems oda was feeling pressure you can actually feel it . Oden flashback has not really resonated with editors as well .

Heh funny seeing a thread like this pop up on this site too
Post automatically merged:

happened to you Oda man:catcry:
Years of lack of sleep might have made him a little loopy.
Also the fact that he's been on the top too long. He's become complacent
Post automatically merged:

MIHAWK WSS MEANS what exactly?
After knowing he never fought YC swordmen or top tier swordmen except Young Shanks.
After seeing no strong swordman showing interest at being WSS
You wanna get your ass into Mihawk General powerlevel discussion thread again Ndule?

I disagree with this. Oda is not rushing anything. It is in fact the exact opposite. Oda is utterly dragging everything out.

Take Whole Cake Island. It is 78 Chapters long.

That makes it as long as the Impel Down (25 Chapters), Marineford (31 Chapters), Post War (17 Chapters) and Return to Sabaody (5 Chapters) arcs combined.

What truly makes this ridiculous is the fact that WCI was supposedly a “smash and grab” arc like Impel Down despite the fact that it is over 3x longer.

The most grievously guilty party to excessively bloated pacing however is Dressrosa. It is 102 chapters long. The Summit War Saga is 108 chapters. I repeat, Dressrosa Arc is only 6 chapters less then the entire Summit War Saga.

Meanwhile, Wano is currently on its 61st Chapter. It is already 2 Chapters shy of matching Alabasta (63 chapters) and 5 chapters shy of matching Skypiea (66 chapters). We have not even got to the Fire Festival yet.

If Oda is trying to rush the plot then he is going about it in an exceedingly ineffective and contradictory fashion.
