I’ll say this - the average Japanese person probably has a stronger grasp on English language/culture than vice versa. Oda definitely understands my experience better than I do his.

I kinda hope the live action tries to go for a more down to earth real life pirate vibe similar to pirates of the Caribbean with a supernatural elements mixed in.

I think fans, most of whom are now adults, would be very receptive to a more realistic take on OP(given that it’s done well).

in any case, I dont think that Oda would have done this if he didn’t think it would work.

  • the guy on the left would make a nice Luffy
  • the guy in the middle would make a nice sanji
  • Ansel Egort would make a nice Helmeppo
