Because it's sends a wrong message to people. Pretending you are alright when you're not is a bad thing actually.

I get why people like "nothing happened", I think it is impressive and I like the scene. It shows one of Zoro's biggest character weaknesses nonetheless.

Umm that's not what nothing happened was supposed to signify. What Zoro is saying is that he doesn't want praise for what he did, it is nothing significant to him and he would do it any day.

That's what "Nothing Happened" meant hence why Sanji got the message and didn't tell anyone about Zoros big sacrifice.
