Unless Luffy pulls out Tigerman or Gear 5 or some new shit

if Luffy beat Kaido and be the one who do most of the work , it will mean Kaido is not strongest and Oda wasn't serious in making him the strongest IMO

I think once Akainu does literally anything post time skip he’s gonna climb to basically everyone’s top few spots.

I’m certain that he has COC since Sengoku (and probably Kong) had it and compared to Sengoku Akainu is literally conquering the seas.

It’s also actually possible at this point that Akainu has awakening and Kaido doesn’t.

It only expands what the user is already capable of doing. Awakening only enhances what a fruit is already able to do hence why kids cannot create or turn other things into metal because his base ability is magnetism and not metal

You can also see awakening as expanding the influence of the Devil Fruit power, Luffy has rubber properties so an awakening could make him grant rubber properties to other things the same way Kid who has magnetic properties is able to grant that property to others.
Doflamingo describes it as the DF ability affecting things besides the user.

Again the example you gave is poor since doffy can already expand his fruit outside of his own body and can this create clones etc. Luffy has not affect on anything else around him so comparing their fruits together to assume what luffys will be is piss poor.

Here's the thing

Kaido and Big Mom have many parallels, many similar attributes and opposite goals and themes, they're like Zoro and Sanji

their power is included, both have very special durability and skin , and the explanation is not yet provided

but it's not far fetched that their durability are from the same source , meaning the explanation to their power are related

Big Mom have a very unusual weakness, when emotionally unstable she lose her durability like when MC picture was destroyed

what if Kaido have the same problem, and he's weakened due to being in a bad mental state right now( want to die) compared to years ago when he was happy and hopeful to change the world?

And then didn't carry his ass to do it because he was scared of losing his family.

His crew on average was stronger than luffys though he had no one besides himself as powerful or more powerful than luffy and zoro. However ever he had multiple people stronger than nami ussop etc. He knew that because he was sick he couldnt use coc and therefore could not use advanced coc as much which he would need to defeat kaido
