Are you really forgetting that Linlin is Kidd's prey?
Are you really forgetting that Hawkins words are bound to be proven wrong?
Are you really forgetting that the Narrator presented Kidd as the New Path?
Are you really forgetting that Kidd is ready to die if that's the price to tear Linlin off her throne?

If the answer to the questions above (not just you, everybody who reads this post) is YES, well I guess some of you gotta check for Alzaimer.

The problem is that even though Kaido is weakened, Luffy faces Kaido alone now. And Kid and Law are 2 against Big Mom.

In addition with everything Luffy has unlocked since WCI, especially the 3 forms of advanced hakis, I find it difficult to have Kid at the same level, apart from Tanking. I do not forget everything that has been put in place by Oda, in particular the chapter "The Tower" or Killer not Hawkins.

Additionally, Law and Kid's fight against Big Mom was largely off-screen in reality. It's even more frustrating because Kid may have found some other really great techniques and Oda the screen.

I think Oda has a big responsibility that a lot of people find there's a problem for a lot of people regarding Eustass Kid. Oda hyped up Kid for a rivalry with Luffy.


So many people expected so much more. I think if Oda hadn't put a lot of hype around Kid, there would be less expectation and therefore less disappointment.

I get what you mean I saw several One Piece youtubers who wanted Kid to be a tape recorder, or have an alarm clock like Douglas Bullet or Shiki the golden lion you're right.

But I also find that Oda has a great responsibility for the questions that everyone asks about Kid. Unlike Law who has a crazy salary, a hyper OP devil fruit and coveted by the world government too and who offers eternal eternity and on top of that Law is a D so for the story he seems to be fine more important than Kid who nevertheless has the Haki of Kings.

Do you understand what I mean? Oda doesn't emphasize this enough. I'm waiting for the last chapters to fully judge my opinion on Eustass Kid.

Again, putting both Kidd and Law against Linlin makes sense since she was in way better shape and stronger than Kaido.

Durability is not the only thing Kidd has above Luffy: endurance, AoE, DF mastery are examples. Hakigame is obviously in Luffy's favore, problem is that people act like that's everything... Luffy had to specialize in Haki cause he has to compensate what he lacks in other departments when compared to fighters like Kidd (which means that this game comes from both sides).

Fight has at least another 2 chapters to go, and we all know the final part Is always the best part. You are getting disappointed for something that is still work-in-progress.

I've still no problem seeing him as a rival of Luffy.

Also, not you, but I see users crying "I'm sadly disappointed" when until 2-3 days ago they were shitting on him lol, talk about being clowns.

The separation of the sky I do not believe it, I have the impression that Oda reserved this only for Monkey D Luffy. Since the entrance of the new world, each time an opponent who has the Haki of Kings is an enemy, Oda makes a match between him and Luffy with Haki clashes which allow Luffy to have a better Haki each time.
Luffy vs. Don Chinjao = Clash

Luffy vs. Doflamingo = Clash

Luffy vs. Katakuri = Clash

Luffy vs Kaido round 1 = manifestation of Haki

Luffy vs Kaido round 2 (1010) = Discovery of Advanced Kings Haki and use for the first time.

Clash of Advanced Kings Haki between Luffy and Kaido = 1011

Luffy's defeat for not mastering his Advanced Kings Haki well enough.

There used to be so many people looking forward to Kidd. I was one of them, I know @Cuistot held out for awhile too. But Oda isn't giving Kidd any love. His fighting style is very one dimensional and boring for his fruit. Zero characterization and barely any screen time.

I don't wanna bash Kidd, but he is really hollow and I hope we don't see him after Wano.

You are right, this blame is solely on Oda.

I am in the minority that belives Kid is Luffy's equal currently. I know Luffy got adcoc, Kid has awakening which looks a bit more difficult to develop from what I could see otherwise Luffy woulda awoken his df abilities long before adcoc. Kid also have coc. He has the potential to have adcoc + Awakening in this very arc which will be a game changer but I doubt Oda would let him leave Wano stronger than Luffy.

It's true Oda didn't let Kid face opponents like Luffy. While Luffy was slumming it with the likes of Hordy and Cesar. Kid was facing off the red hair pirates. He also broke into Linlin's territory and took something that was very valuable to her. He also injured one of her sweet commanders.

Oda has not been fair to Kid at all. His opponents were the red hair pirates, Big Mom Pirates, Kaido and now Big Mom. The rest of the Nova captains had it easy compare to Kid.

I would be happy to support Kidd if Kidd fans didn't wank the "Zoro < Kidd" idea because that is the stupidest thing anyone can say.

I don't even care if they say Kidd = Luffy just drop the Kidd > Zoro delusion

Zoro has by far the best feats in the entire world and world doesn't particularly come close.

Not sure. HIs development is not "unexpected".
These side characters eventually put all their chips on Luffy, and just help "clear the path" to him. Remember Mihawk's words.
Luffy possesses the power to make everyone around him his ally. People are just compelled to help him eventually.
People just had an idea about Kid that wasn't met with reality. In Sabaody, he was this ruthless fucker who surpassed Luffy's 300M bounty due to his cruelty and willingness to attack civilians.
But at the time as well, we had Bege who casually murdered one of his goons with a fork because he warned him about the marine HQ right next to them. How did Bege turned out to be in WCI? A family man who goes to hell for his "family".
Who would have thought that Kid would get a similar 180 treatment and just be another good edgelord guy?

This. Don't know why some try to cope by saying he's strong, it changes nothing to how dull he's written so far.
